As a resident of New York I am asking for your help to rebuild our country, bring our jobs home and save the American Dream! For to long we have watched and accepted job losses, seen unemployment rise and wages not keep up with inflation! We are told things are getting better, but I have talked to hundreds of people and the honest answerer is not yes. The only truth is with your help we the people working together can build America again! I am asking for your support and realize the journey will be long hard, I also realize special interest groups will block our way an offer empty promises! But I believe in you, my neighbors! Let us begin rebuilding our countries future today together! Let it begin here in New York! Edmund M. Dunn Watch the video.

Buffalo's Bill Stachowski says he's "not interested" in explaining why his Senate leaders are handing out hefty bonuses at the same time that tens of thousands of New Yorkers are being thrown out of work by the worsening economy. Stachowski's NY City-based Democrat bosses handed out $200000 in raises to staff—including a whopping 51 percent hike to one advisor—at the same time that Gov. Paterson is warning that the bloated state budget is billions of dollars in the red. The 11 aides, each earning an average $89500 before the pay hikes—and as much as $161000—will see an average bump of $18000, or 21 percent. In Stachowski's blue-collar Erie County, there were 38000 unemployed in May, and those lucky enough to have a job earn an average $33729 a year, according to the Census Bureau. Some of the raises are back-dated so that the lucky staffers will receive fat checks with as much of a half-years extra pay. "It is shameful," Obama said from the Oval Office. "And part of what we're going to need is for the folks on Wall Street who are asking for help to show some restraint, and show some discipline, and show some sense of responsibility." The figure, from the New York state comptroller, drew prominent news coverage. Yet Obama's stand also came just one day after he surrounded himself with well-paid chief executives at the White House. The president said the public dislikes the idea of helping the financial sector, only to see the hole get bigger because of lavish spending.
