Bill O'Reilly vs David Letterman
Bill O'Reilly and Bernie Goldberg discuss media coverage of the David Letterman sex/extortion story, and come to the conclusion that the media would be more harsh on Letterman had he been a conservative. "Let's say it was Rush Limbaugh... who was involved in a sex scandal," says Goldberg. "They'd give tha story more ink than Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I mean, they wouldn turn the extortionist into a national hero."

6-10-09. O'Reilly and panel discuss the abusive monologue of David Letterman.
Letterman admits that America felt it needed to do something after 9/11, but the destruction we're causing is too high a price. O'Reilly asks, "Do you want the US to win in Iraq?", which is a loaded question, since Letterman wants to neither win nor lose. He persists this loaded question when Letterman tries to give a "thoughtful" answer. Letterman answers that the temporary stability earned in victory may not be worth the loss of American life. He then asks,[ "If North Korea has wmds, why aren't we going after them for the same reason?"] O'Reilly says that we were wrong about Iraq having wmds, ignoring the objective of Letterman's question, which was to ask him, "Why aren't we in North Korea now?" O'Reilly says pulling out of Iraq would allow Iran to conquer it and steal it's "oil flow", and Letterman says, "So it's all about oil. Big deal." Letterman tries to say that by attacking Iraq, we have increased the attention given to terrorists. O'Reilly responds by misinterpreting Letterman's intentions and mentions 9/11, the applause to which cancels further discussion. O'Reilly counters Letterman's "no ties between Al-Queda and Hussein" by mentioning Ansar Al-Islam, an affiliate of Al-Queda that attempted to poison British water supplies while operating in Northern Iraq under the supervision of Hussein. O'Reilly's argument loses all momentum when he makes two unfounded quotes of Letterman: "America is a bad country" and "Bush is an evil liar". If Letterman thought the former, he wouldn't be so concerned with American lives and safety. If he thought the latter, he wouldn't have said, "I don't think he is evil, he is misguided" earlier in this same interview.
