Senate Democrats today asked unanimous consent to pass legislation that would give the BP Oil Spill Commission the subpoena power it needs to do its job. "Frankly, it's time we have a vote after so many Republican objections to this commonsense legislation," said Sen. Robert Menendez. There are a lot of things wrong with this picture. There is a media blackout going on in the Gulf. Meanwhile the media is ramping this disaster up to biblical proportions. This looks to me like a total black opp. You can call me a doubting Thomas if you like, but I see every opportunity here to make this oil spill up. And then use all the equipment and chemicals to actually create a controlled disaster. Oil spill, my Idea is to create a strong water whirl to contain the oil in the center. The Oil has a lighter density than water and therefore should remain at the center of whirl while the water is expelled in the opening between the Bottom Hat and the Top Hat. The power of the 3 water pumps (or submarine propellers) is controlled by an operator on a ship, watching at all time what is going on through a video cam. A Heater in the ''pump box'' will warm up the water to avoid any ice formation. I hope this could help...

READ THIS: Dick Cheney's deregulation agenda is the real (underlying) reason / cause behind the US oil spill by British Petroleum (BP) in 2010 off the coast of Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico. Deregulation coupled with lax government oversight (lackies appointed by Dick Cheney at the helm) lead to the omission of key safety features and protocols, a free pass for drilling licenses, emphasis on profit over safety, and absolutely NO PLAN for containment of blowouts. In addition, the courts in the Gulf States, are completely stacked with Republican appointees (like Feldman) with major investments in or connections with BIG OIL (see last paragraph). This is most evident when you look at attempts in the first month and a half: all of the post-blowout efforts have been focused on SAVING the well; it was only after more than a month before BP attempted "TOPKILL", which would have sealed the well.
