Oil Spill Gulf Of Miex has no followers yet. Be the first one to follow.
Main Stream media, big oil, big law, and government have intentionally failed to reveal the truth. We see a scramble to limit liabilities, pass blame, shirk responsibility, and preserve cash investment in a well destined to cause unmeasurable ecological disaster and trillions in monetary damage. Our dissonance in this regard represents a breakdown in our society, governance, and cumulative ethicThis Gulf Spill Montage of available footage (from amateur and government sources) shows the true scope and size of this catastrophe.
This video shows a little experiment in which the solution (which is activated charcoal) is mixed into some oil which is in cold water. The charcoal adsorbed and bonded to the oil to such a point that I could stick a pointy knife into the water with the "oil spill" on top, and still the oil would not rupture or break while the charcoal was in there. I believe this will cause the oil to slow down dramatically and furthermore, will help it stick readily to the hair which is being collected in order to suction up the oil. For those who watch this video who want to have an active role in helping out, please find your representative in congress according to your state ( www.house.gov follow this link, and call them, fax them, or e-mail them. PS: I have sent this solution to the EPA, NOAA, AWF, FEMA, the White House, Director Janet Napolitano, every congressman or congresswoman in my state of PA, CNN, FOX, NBC, PBS, NPR, LA Times, The Morning Call, Governor Jindall, Senator Vitter, Senator Landrieu, Rachel Madow and so many more. So please, take a few minutes and pass this solution now because though this might not be affecting everyone right now, if left unsolved, the ramifications will be felt by all.Your time is greatly appreciated. PS: Because charcoal is a derivative of wood, it can burn right along with the oil if the people need to rally the oil together while it is heavy with charcoal.
Dispersants are being used in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response. Dispersants are not safe to humans or the environment. They contain various industrial solvents and workers must be protected from exposure. Dispersants are usually applied directly to the spilled oil by spraying from an airplane, helicopter, or vessel. During the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup in Alaska, some dispersants were manually sprayed by workers on oiled beaches. Although dispersants are manufactured by many companies and their ingredients may differ, most contain a detergent and a solvent. The solvent allows the detergent to be applied. The detergent helps to break up the oil on the water surface into very small drops. These tiny oil drops are then able to easily mix with the water and be diluted. Most dispersants contain petroleum distillates, a colorless liquid with a gasoline- or kerosene-like odor. They are composed of a mixture of paraffins (C5 to C13) that may contain a small amount of aromatic hydrocarbons. Exposure to can cause irritation to the eyes, skin, or respiratory tract. NIOSH also recommends preventing skin contact with oil mist. To prevent harmful respiratory and dermal health effects NIOSH recommends reducing worker exposures to petroleum distillates and similar cleaning agents in dispersants. For more details, go to the NIOSH website at www.cdc.gov . This was clipped from video produced by the Governors Office of the State of Alaska in 1989 and 1990.
From NBC Bay Area's Rob Mayeda - Undersea video of the main rupture site shows a mix of oil and bursts of methane gushing into the Gulf of Mexico. Estimates on the spill rate is near 200000 gallons/day since Apr 21st. @ 1:10 into the video you will see the first attempt to contain the oil spill with a structure that eventually clogged with icy hydrates common to that part of the Gulf of Mexico at that depth (pressure) and temperature. A smaller dome like structure is being moved into position later today with hopes of being less impacted hydrates will attempt the reduce the amount of oil/gas spilling out in the Gulf of Mexico.
May 13, 2010 (2:32) Senators John Kerry and Joe Lieberman release The American Power Act to mixed reactions in the media.
Oil and gas stream from the larger of two existing leaks on the riser of the Deepwater Horizon well on May 11. Footage taken by BP Rov on May 11th. This is the main leak that is causing the problem and the natural gas now mixed with the oil as it leaks out is said to be slowing the spillage a bit.

I recorded this video on May 5, 2010 - we were 12 miles beyond the southwest pass in the Gulf of Mexico. You can clearly see the gulf coast oil spill coated with BP's chemical dispersant designed to make the oil and chemical mix drop into the water column, allowing the currents of the ocean to take it just about anywhere. Our boat captain comments "It could end up anywhere" and a photographer states "In just a couple weeks it will be in the Florida Keys"
This week, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger had second thoughts about expanding oil drilling off the California Coast. His change of heart was a reaction to the devastating oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
www.nwf.org - Oil and water and oil and wildlife don't mix. See a "hands on" example of why the BP Oil Spill is a threat to the wildlife and wetlands of the Gulf. NWF's Senior Vice President Jeremy Symons traveled out to the Chandeleur Islands to see the oil slick first hand. While out on the water, he traveled through the oil slick to get up close and feel what the wildlife will feel, and it's not good. There are no hand towels for birds.

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico become an Environmental Catastrophe We have the economical and permanent solution to the oil spillage problem in the Gulf of Mexico or in any other place. We respectfully request your attention to this problem and the solution that we propose. Taking out the oil from the sea is only a first step, the big problem will be when the oil spill reaches the shores. We propose to clean the areas, the sand and the vegetation "In Site" with Biodegradable Chemicals and Biological Acceptable Products that are Environmentally Friendly to accelerate the process of Biodegradation. To do that we need heavy machinery to mix the products with the soil and sand and a lot of hand labor "In Site", this way we solve two problems: - The Contamination and the Unemployment in the area. Mixed media of holograms, paint and beach stones. This was my reaction to the Valdez Oil Spill over 20 years ago. Holographic $ signs hover above the spill and Maine marine life hologram. The dollar signs appear and disappear to show the hidden costs to our Earth. It was displayed in Cordova Alaska on the first anniversary of that environmental tragedy When will we ever learn ?

The video shows just one rupture; however I see no problem with using the same measures for multiple ruptures, current and future. This method should be seen as a quick response method and temporary solution only. The first step is lowering steel cages full of stones around the immediate vicinity of the ruptured pipeline. This will provide a fairly stable structure on the sea bed around the ruptured pipe and provide a secure anchor point for the new extraction pipe. Not shown in the construction video is a series of floats and stabilising cables. The floats, attached to the extraction pipe, are used to give the new extraction pipe a buoyant vertical loading to pull against the stabilising cables. The cables anchor the pipe in position to the sea bed ~ very much like a radio tower adorned with balloons. The method used to provide cable anchorage can be again use of steel cages filled with stones, ie they would be sufficiently weighted rather than long-term pegging down. Once the new extraction pipe has been anchored in place the whole area can be covered with a suitable sheeting material of sufficient strength to provide a skin over the mouth of the extraction pipe and over the ruptured area of the existing pipeline. The next task is to pile on and around, bags of dry concrete mix. This is done in such a manner so to achieve the best possible seal of the sheeting against the ruptured pipe. Using a dry mix will allow longest workability times, once in-situ the bags should ...
We could not dive the jetties because the waves were to bad! and as you look to the far right and look really hard you will see a red boom put out there to protect the coast from the oil slick coming in from the rig that is leaking oil from the explosion on April 29Th. Already the sands were getting yucky....but the worst is yet to come!!! I took this video for a idea of what folks should know what it looked like just before the oil hit the shore. And where is all of Hollywood's Eco activist ???? hmmmm..not here!!! and NOT HELPING!!!!
This is the annotated and short version. The "Big Chew" is Omsett tested for open sea deployment. Its patented design skims a mix of oil and water into the first chamber and then only oil into the second chamber which can then be offloaded to a barge or other storage unit. The unit is capable of digesting floating debris up to the size of a 4" x 4" piece of lumber
FBNs Robert Gray on President Obama saying the economy is still a mixed bag and that the government is fully prepared to fight the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.s reputation as a resolute defender of the environment stems from a litany of successful legal actions. Kennedy was named one of TIME magazines Heroes for the Planet for his success in helping Riverkeeper lead the fight to restore the Hudson River. In 2009, he was named one of Rolling Stones 100 Agents of Change. He has worked on environmental issues across the Americas, and has assisted several indigenous tribes in Latin America and Canada in successfully negotiating treaties protecting traditional homelands. Kennedy is also credited with leading the fight to protect New York City's water supply. He is the senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council. One of NRDC's focuses is to encourage greener business practices. A portion of NRDC works to bring business and government together in order to establish policies that are good for the economy and the environment. In addition to his numerous leadership roles, Kennedy has published a number of books, including the New York Times bestseller Crimes Against Nature (2004); The Riverkeepers (1997); and Judge Frank M. Johnson Jr: A Biography (1977).
President Obama visits battery technology company Celgard in Charlotte, NC to talk about how the Recovery Act is helping to create jobs and economic growth by investing in innovative technologies.
President Obama tells a group of employees from the Polypore company in Charlotte, NC that the gains the US made in job growth last month indicate that "we've turned the corner" in jobs and the economy.Twitter log:We've been through the worst period of economic turmoil since the great depression. We were losing 700000 a month when I first took office. Last month we gained a substantial number of jobs. We've turned the cornerMoves that were necessary, but not popular has broken the slide in the economy. Best jobs/economic news in 2 years. We have a ways to go. 8 million have lost jobs over the last 2-years. Statistics don't do justice to the pain that causes to people.Being unemployed effects not only your finances, but your heart and your soul.We need to tackle some of the long-term problems that have been a drag on our economy. Middle class has been hurting for long time.Gov't can't replace the 8 million jobs that have been lost. Biz does that. Gov't can create the infrastructure that helps biz.Lot's of folks confused the bank bailout with the recovery act. Recovery act cut taxes for small biz and most people.Jobs bill I recently signed cuts taxes for small businesses that hire new workers.America needs to lead in the growth industry of the 21st Century. Long term, clean energy is one of those industries. Before the recovery act, we had the capacity to make less than 2% of the worlds advanced batteries. We're now on pace to make 40%.The US can gain enormous market share in ...
