Naushad Sahab has narrated a lot of anecdotes about this movie in his interviews. My favorite is that K.Asif Sahab wanted the present world Tansen to sing the Tansen song. Naushad Sahab's view was that Bade Ghulam Ali Khan was the present day tansen, but he would not agree to sing in a commercial movie. Nevertheless, K.Asif and Naushad Sahab approached Badu Ghulam Ali Khan sahab for a meeting. Bade Ghulam Ali Sahab, refused and finally out of deceny and to wriggle out of the situation, proposed an exorbitant amount (around Rs 50000/- if my memory serves me right for the song). K. Asif sahab took a deep drag from his cigarette, and with a chutki, tapped out the Ashes, and said : Sahab Aap Ki Kimat is se kahin zyada hai, diya! (Sir your value is much more than this, done). And thus Bade Ghulam Ali Sahab sang two numbers, Shub Din Aayo and Prem Jogan Ban Ke (I think the only one in Hindi films) for the movie! His most reputed disciple, Md Rafi Sahab sang this wonderful number

Mohammad Rafi The Man who never died His parents gave him the name Mohammad Rafi. Dear friends names do reflect on your personality. Mohammad: Mohammad is an Arabic word which came from the root word HMD. Hamd means the expression someone gives without even thinking, like Oh wow!, that is so beautiful!, or I am speechless! The person who has been extremely praised calls Mohammad. Rafi: Rafi is also an Arabic word which means holding high. We know that he was the man with great character and he held that greatness until he died. He is the one who has been praised a lot. He was one simple soul who was much above the factional and communal politics. By conferring Bharat Ratna on Mohammad Rafi posthumously, right signals will be sent to all the right-thinking people of this country. Bharat Ratn is being given to the personalities related to the field of art and culture (music, literature etc.). It is being given posthumously also. The precedent to bestow this coveted award posthumously and to the people belonging to the field of Art & culture is already there. He was the biggest ambassador of this country in the field of Art & Culture (music), who has been adjudged as singer of the millennium. His contribution in spreading Indian music to outside world is phenomenal. Since this wonderful artist and a great human being (fakir/saint by nature) got (and is still getting) love from people of all the religions/faiths/practices/castes/creed/gender and nationalities, it is earnestly ...

Andaz (Hindi: अन्दाज़, Persian,Urdu: اَنداز) is a 1971 Hindi romantic movie starring Shammi Kapoor, Hema Malini and Rajesh Khanna. The film was directed by Ramesh Sippy. Music by Shankar-Jaikishan. Synopsis; This film tells the story of a widow Sheetal (Hema Malini) who is left devastated after the death of her husband Raj (Rajesh Khanna). She is left with one child to look after and teaches in a school and one of her students is a daughter of the widower Ravi (Shammi Kapoor). The children become instrumental in getting the single parents to meet and fall in love. Andaz was one of the last movies for which the great music directors duo, Shankar- Jaikishan composed music together. Jaikishan died of cirrhosis of the liver on September 12, 1971 at the young age of 42. Coincidentally, one of the most popular songs from this film - Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana, Yahaan Kal Kya Ho, Kisne Jaana (Life is a beautiful journey, One never knows what's going to happen tomorrow) turned out to be the last song that Jaikishan recorded before his untimely death. Andaz also proved to be the last hit for Shammi Kapoor as a lead hero. Even the success of this movie is credited to the Rajesh Khanna Mania of the 70's, as Rajesh Khanna only appeared for five minutes in the movie, and still created a stir. However, Shammi Kapoors performance was well received and it has been one of his most uncharacteristic roles of his career. Cast; * Shammi Kapoor* Hema Malini * Rajesh Khanna * Simi ...
