An F-16 fighter jet from Madison's 115th Figher Wing of the Air National Guard has crashed in Adams County, Wisconsin. An F16 crashed in Wisconsin on Tuesday, causing the evacuation of residents within a one mile radius of the downed aircraft. Shocking eyewitness reports were broadcast live shortly after the crash with one witness claiming that the aircraft carried a nuclear or chemical weapon. The eyewitness, speaking to abc affiliate WISN, stated that he saw a different fighter jet flying circles around the crash site and that the crash was much louder than a sonic boom, more like an actual explosion. He then went on to say that some sort of munitions flew off the downed craft and hit a business close to ten miles away! The eyewitness, who is a business owner in the area, further claimed that officials were going door to door, ordering evacuations due to the fact that nuclear or chemical weapon was on board. On Wednesday the military released a statement that did not acknowledge the possibility that nuclear or chemical weapons were on board the aircraft. The official story now being reported by multiple mainstream news outlets is that a hazardous chemical called hydrazine was what caused the evacuation. The fact that munitions hit a business ten miles away has also been left out of all new reports after the initial eyewitness testimony. Was this a quick cover story for some sort of chemical or nuclear accident close call or were multiple eye witnesses completely off ...

Who thought it was a good idea to camp on the concrete sidewalks of Wisconsin's second largest city during 90 degree weather? And, what's the point?
Washington DC (April 14, 2011) -- Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) today scored an admission from Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker that his decision to strip the rights of public workers to bargain collectively "doesn't save any" money for the Wisconsin taxpayers.

A short video with text about the ongoing budget struggle in Wisconsin. Yes, we are fighting for public sector unions, but there are many more reasons to stand up for Wisconsin right now. Sorry I forgot to credit earlier: music is from the movie "Gladiator;" composers are Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard. Wonderful soundtrack if you haven't picked it up, yet. All photos I took myself at protests at our beautiful capitol building in Madison, Wisconsin. Solidarity!
Congressman Dennis Kucinich gave the keynote speech Saturday March 12, 2011 at the historic Barrymore Theater in Madison, Wisconsin. Speaking to a packed house Kucinich time-after-time brought the audience to it's feet responding to the passion of his words. Once again Kucinich is in the forefront of the battle to take back America for it's citizens. When others hold back like Finegold and Obama Dennis takes action.
Athens, WI farmer Tony Schultz addresess the crowd on March 12, 2011 at the Wisconsin State Capitol. Many commented afterwards how especially effective Tony was at conveying his message.
On February 29th, March 1st, 2nd and 3rd, in violation of the State Constitution and a court order, Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin prevented members of the public from entering the State Capitol. The Wisconsin Constitution states that the Capitol building is to be open to the public whenever the legislature is conducting business. Never before in Wisconsin's history has access to the Capitol building been restricted. The Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) stated that the King Street entrance to the Capitol would be the only entrance - so many people waited outside for hours hoping to be allowed in to what we fondly call "the people's house". A rumor spread in the crowd that some people were being allowed into the Capitol through the underground tunnels that supply most of downtown Madison with heating and cooling. This was in violation of DOA's assertion that ONLY the King St. entrance was to be used. So I and a few others went down to the 3rd underground level of a public parking garage (in Wisconsin it's called a parking "ramp"), to find the tunnel entrance and see whether the rumor was true. What we observed was that members of various police forces, including St. Croix County Sheriff, Special agents from the Milwaukee County Department of Justice, and un-uniformed men who MAY have been members of the Wisconsin State Patrol (they wouldn't identify themselves or show any badge), tried to get us to leave so that they could usher VIP's into the tunnel in ...
(Video by Riley Moore) "Contrary to what those in power would like you to believe so that you'll give up your pension, cut your wages, and settle for the life your great-grandparents had, America is not broke. Not by a long shot. The country is awash in wealth and cash. It's just that it's not in your hands. It has been transferred, in the greatest heist in history, from the workers and consumers to the banks and the portfolios of the uber-rich." -- Michael Moore How they did it, and how Wisconsin taught us to fight back, at: www.michaelmoore.com
March 2, 2011. MSNBC. Rachel Maddow reporting. Wisconsin Republicans are getting very desperate in their tactics at this point, indicating that they may be scraping the bottom of the barrel in their fight against the middle class of Wisconsin. If it has now come down to revoking the 14 democratic senators' parking privileges, it's a good bet they don't have anything left in their arsenal.
A short video I created for my Atmospheric and Oceanic Science / Soil Science 132 class at the University of Wisconsin - Madison (Spring 2011). This video is a brief summary of one topic of the conversation.

Wisconsin Congressman Dave Obey could not enter the Wisconsin Capitol despite the claim by the Department of Administration that the building is open. The Capitol has been a scene of on-going protests in response to legislation proposed by Governor Walker. Following the lockdown of the building, the Circuit Court issued an injunction to reopen the building to the public. Rep. Obey served Wisconsin in Congress from 1969 - 2011 and in the State Assembly from 1963 - 1969. He was met at the doors by Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca (D-Kenosha) and Assistant Minorirty Leader Donna Seidel (D-Wausau).

Long before Gov. Scott Walker watched Democrats flee Wisconsin last week, a similar scenario played out in Texas when another first-term governor faced a contentious political debate in 2003 over redistricting. At the time, Gov. Rick Perry was only beginning to make his mark on the Lone Star State. Eight years later, the experience gives him a unique perspective on Walker's situation. During an interview this morning in Washington, DC, Perry had nothing nice to say about the 14 Wisconsin senators who ran for Illinois to prevent a quorum in the state Senate. "Instead of respecting the democratic process, they run off and somehow or another and think that's going to be productive," Perry said. "I don't think it is. I think people, they look at this like, you know, the kid who takes his ball. I can't win, I can't play, then nobody else is going to." He added: "That is immature, is juvenile and at the end of the day, I'll betcha the folks of Wisconsin, they punish those senators rather than heralding them as heroes." The debate in Texas lasted for months. First, House Democrats fled to neighboring Oklahoma, then months later Senate Democrats took off to New Mexico for a month. Ultimately, one of the Senate Democrats returned to Austin and the plan passed. The stalemate in Wisconsin shows no sign of ending. The Republican-led Assembly adopted Walker's budget repair bill by a vote of 51-17. Walker has said his proposal is the only way to prevent thousands of workers from being ...
This is video from the gallery of the WI Assembly past 1 AM in the morning on 2/25/2011. The Democrats have just been told by the speaker pro tempore there will be no more debate before the vote, even though there were more than a dozen Democrats in the queue to speak. They shout "Shame! Shame! Shame!" The public citizens in the gallery were shortly told to leave by police. None of the public were allowed in the gallery at the time of the vote.

February 17, 2011. MSNBC. Rachel Maddow reporting. An attempt by the Republican plan to end collective bargaining rights (effectively ending unions) in the state of Wisconsin is nothing more than a Republican plan to end the democratic party once and for all. If they can take the unions down, then there is no democratic force that can compete with republican fundraising efforts in the wake of the Citizens United supreme court decision.
