Hey guys, this song has been one of my all-time favorite modern day OPM ballads (although sung in English) I'd been dying to cover this song so when I got hold of the piano instrumental from a friend, I decided to sing with it and voila! Here it is... This is also a cut from KC Concepcion's self-titled album which has been out for months now so grab a copy and support OPM artists and musicians. Anyway, special thanks to the composer of "Breathe You", Mr. Jude Gitamondoc for granting me the permission to cover this beautiful song. And, I couldn't find any video that best suits the song but I found this one on youtube! hahaha! Anyway, thanks for taking time to view. :) Download here: www.mediafire.com Dawson- Breathe You.mp3 BREATHE YOU (music and lyrics by Jude Gitamondoc, August 13, 2006) Feels like the first time Seems like the last Here in the nighttime Lost in one long caress... When I feel you beside me And your eyes are locked into mine, I fly When you say that you love me You're driving me out of my mind... Just to breathe you Just to have you near Here beside me There's nothing I wouldn't do Just to hold you Just to know you're there When you hold me Can you feel the beating of my heart? Underneath a canopy of stars I breathe you. Gonna hold on to this moment For as long as I could For it never comes as often As I'd want it to... Wanna sink in this feeling Of being disbelieving and swept away Wanna linger and savor forever For as long as it takes... Just to breathe ...

A dinner-concert, dubbed "Taking a Chance on Love", will feature Japanese/OPM male artist AISAKU YOKOGAWA and introduce young but talented female Jazz singer YUMI KUTSUKAWA. AISAKU, born to and raised by Japanese parents, is an amazing multi-lingual performer. Aside from singing in his native tongue, he never fails to surprise the audience as he dishes out OPM favorites in flawless Tagalog. Aisaku's talent is evident in his repertoire of Latin ditties translated into Tagalog known as "SALINAWIT", by no less than award winning poet / journalist Pete Lacaba, and Japanese songs popularized by Ted Ito. His Chinese song renditions has also endeared him to Chinese music lovers. Aisaku, who is multi-talented, is also in demand as a model, events host, art director, graphic/web designer, animator, IT teacher and language interpreter. Be there when AISAKU performs his brand of music in a mix of ballad, jazz and bossa nova. Twenty year-old YUMI may be young, but already a talent to reckon with. katutubong_pinoy@yahoo.com (FACEBOOK)(MULTIPLY) In a historic moment for OPM and Pinoy rock, Rivermaya took centerstage at the recent MTV Asia Awards 2006 ceremonies, at the 5000-capacity Siam Paragon in Bangkok, Thailand. It was the first time for a Filipino band to be invited to perform, and the first time any Filipino artist was privileged to perform a solo-spot number in the five-year history of the MTV Asia Awards. The glittering roster of international performers included rock icons Korn, Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child, Daniel Powter, top US band Hoobastank, as well as pop superstars from across Asia, including Teriyaki Boyz of Japan, Seven of Korea, Vicky Zhao of China, and Tata Young of Thailand. Performing its massive hit, ''You'll Be Safe Here'', Rivermaya was accompanied by the Royal Thai Army Orchestra's string section, amidst a magical mix of state-of-the-art lcd and graphic effects. The band that has been hailed as ''Ang Banda ng Bayan'' by fans across the Philippines was introduced by Kelly Rowland as the artist ''set to cross continents.'' Before taking the stage, Rico Blanco, lead vocalist for Rivermaya, exclaimed in an MTV interview, ''This one is for the Philippines!'' The intensely moving performance visibly captivated the audience, composed of music industry movers and shakers - record labels, media (tv, radio, print), as well as musicians from every genre, who had flown in from all over the region to attend what is rated as one of the biggest ...

Local Bournemouth based performer STEVE BLINCOE performing 'Crazy Blues' at Bournemouth Folk Club, Centre Stage, on 9th November 2008. Captured & Produced by Link2Music. ABOUT CRAZY BLUES (circa 1919)... Mamie Smith was the first to record blues songs in 1920 with her versions of Perry Bradford's "Crazy Blues", and "It' s Right Here for You" on Okeh Records. The record was a wild success, selling over a million copies in less than a year, and finally ending up selling over two million copies. After this it dawned on record companies that there was a lot of money to be made selling what was then called "race records" to various minority groups in big cities. The success of "Crazy Blues" prompted other record companies to also try to find other female blues singers that could match the sales of "Crazy Blues". It was a very important record, because it opened the doors of the recording industry to African-Americans, whether they were Blues, Jazz or popular singers or musicians. www.redhotjazz.com

They are the best, no handicap will ever dampen their dreams! Songwriter-singer Brian Josef is a fresh whiff of air. He is fun and unpredictable. His narrative is both frank and playful. He captures the vibe of the generation that celebrates individuality perfectly. He mimics life in the city through his sounds and stories, and expresses his own uniqueness with his music. Brian fuses elements from various musical styles and recording technology to create the overall effect of his music. He is forward-looking yet is grounded on the traditions of excellent musicianship. The result, a perfect blend that is sophisticated and exciting. It is a whole new sound that is crazy but incredible. Crazy but Incredible is a two-feat achievement for the young artist, first as an excellent song writer and musician who can whip up interesting stories and concoct riveting imagery against the rollercoaster twists and turns of his melodies. Words and music of all 12 songs in the album are by Brian. Second as a compelling singer blessed with a distinct singing voice that convincingly delivers the songs with an alternative and pop flair. Another thing of note is the exquisite production of the album. All tracks were recorded with live instrumentation by a distinguished group of musicians. It's slick, tight, and rearing to soar. Crazy But Incredible, Brian's carrier single, which is also the title of his debut album to be released under Sony BMG Music Entertainment, is a perfect preface to the album and the artist.
Go to www.cafepress.com to purchase the cd. In 2005-2006 I had the opportunity to work with a great group of talented individuals and in less than 1 1/4 years and despite our busy work scheds, we were able to come up with a lot of songs and record a CD. Unfortunately, we never got to promote our material as I migrated to the US a day after completing the CD, and our drummer soon moved to Costa Rica. So now, I'm sharing these songs anyone who is interested in hearing them. Most are in Tagalog, but there are some songs in English as well. Corruption, abuse of power, labor disputes, freedom of speech, and poverty are some of the topics we wrote about. We didn't want to just come up with a bunch of songs, we wanted to have a purpose and a message. Pls visit : subersiboband.multiply.com profiles.friendster.com for our friendster account Formed early 2005, Subersibo's lineup consists of seasoned musicians Alan and Ty, who have been playing in various bands over the years, drummer Sherwin Tan, and frontman Lucas Reyes. Subersibo's music is best described as heavy & melodic. The band's influences range from psychedelic classic rock to the alternative and heavier sounds of today. Funk, metal, heavy blues and pop also play a major role in the group's sound, which is evident in their originals. Subersibo has performed with and/or opened for bands such as Kapatid, Orange & Lemons, Dicta License and others. The band was featured on NU 107's In the Raw program on Feb.6, 2006.
One of Angeles City's prime band TIBUAN performs the Totoy Bato-popularized song "Ika Ing Pangarap" (You Are The Ambition) -- their piece included in the RocKapampangan album set to be out in December 2007. TIBUAN performed as guest band (being 2006's winner) in the San Miguel Beer Battle of the Bands Grand Finals held at Nepo Quadrangle, Angeles City. The RocKapampangan project aims to instill in Kapampangan musicians, particularly bands, the pride in their own language by inspiring them to employ their Amanung Sisuan (Suckled Language) in their performances and compositions. kamaru.blogspot.com http

The Politics of Language in OPM Last September 1, 2007, at the Nepo Quadrangle, Angeles City, San Miguel Beer and the Angeles City Tourism Office held a Battle of the Bands. In the event, the host said something that praises "Pampangueno Rock" (in Tagalog), and ironically, Kapampangan is never used in rock. Some argue that anything produced by a Kapampangan is already Kapampangan music. Well, this is what they want us to think. I call most bands "Kapampangan People who make non-Kapampangan songs." And then the host also said something like (the host speaks mostly in Tagalog, by the way), "give the Pampangueno rockers a chance to play with national rock musicians (who are, duh, mostly Tagalog musicians)." Isn't it insulting and amazing at the same time, that we are placed inferior to our co-Filipino musicians, yet we feel as if nothing is wrong? This is because the ideology that we are REGIONAL/unofficial and they are NATIONAL/official has been injected in our brains. We have internalized downgrading ourselves as Kapampangans, to the point that the enemy is no longer the national language policy or the domination of Tagalog in mass media but OURSELVES. This is the result of what Neo-Marxist scholar Althusser calls Ideological State Apparatuses (ISA) which bureaucratizes the propagation of an ideology to the point that people are oppressed but do not feel it, as if nothing is wrong, and tend to accept that it's all God-given. In the discourse of language, people tend to ...
