The Grizzly Dance Team from McMinnville, Oregon was invited to Florida to perform along with 60 other teams from across the US and Canada in the Orange Bowl Half-time Show with Kool & the Gang. The routine was choreographed by Cris Judd, assisted by Stacy and Dena & Jenna members of Iconic featured on America's Best Dance Crew. The Grizzlies performed the routine during half-time for the boys varsity basketball game.

AFTER TWO YEARS AS A PUNTER AND BACK-UP, WARD FINALLY RECEIVED AN OPPORTUNITY AT QUARTERBACK IN 1992 LEADING THE NOLES TO AN ACC TITLE AS CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE YEAR, AND FEDEX ORANGE BOWL VICTORY AS MVP. HIS SENIOR YEAR WARD LED FSU TO ANOTHER FEDEX ORANGE BOWL VICTORY AND THE SCHOOLS FIRST NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, WHEN HE WAS AGAIN NAMED MVP. DURING THE SEASON, WARD THREW 27 SCORING PASSES WITH ONLY FOUR BEING INTERCEPTED AS HE CAPTURED THE HEISMAN TROPHY AND THE MAXWELL, CAMP AND OBRIEN AWARDS. AT THE TIME, HIS VICTORY MARGIN IN THE HEISMAN VOTE WAS THE LARGEST EVER. WARD ENTERED THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME IN 2005.
ZORICH BEGAN HIS COLLEGIATE CAREER AT NOTRE DAME AS A LINEBACKER, BUT WAS MOVED TO NOSE TACKLE EARLY IN HIS FRESHMAN YEAR. HE BECAME A FIRST TEAM ALL AMERICAN AS A SOPHOMORE, DESPITE HAVING PLAYED SPARINGLY AS A FRESHMAN. IN HIS FIRST GAME HE HAD ONE AND A HALF SAKS AND TEN TACKLES AGAINST MICHIGAN. HE FINISHED THE YEAR THIRD ON THE TEAM IN TACKLES AS NOTRE DAME WENT UNDEAFEATED AND WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. ZORICH BECAME A CONSENSUS ALL AMERICAN IN 1989 AS A JUNIOR. AS A SENIOR, HE WON THE LOMBARDI AWARD AND WAS RECOGNIZED AS UNANIMOUS ALL AMERICAN. IN THE FINAL GAME OF HIS COLLEGIATE CARREER HE WAS THE DEFENSIVE MVP OF THE FEDEX ORANGE BOWL. ZORICH ENTERED THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME IN 2007
