Top Oscar organizers are promising a funny, fast-paced Academy Awards show on Sunday in an effort to improve TV ratings for Hollywood's biggest night of the year. In recent years, the Academy Awards has been criticized for not being more appealing to younger viewers. But thanks to comedic actors Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin, this years Oscars will be faster-paced and should draw a broader audience. Oscars producer Adam Shankman, show director Bill Mechanic, and Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences (AMPAS) President Tom Sherak talked about some of the changes. Mechanic noted it has been 82 years since two hosts emceed the show instead of just one. [Bill Mechanic, Oscars Director]: "Again means from 1928, right? That's the only other time. So the two hosts are-- will give a different feel to the show. Literally we watched yesterday as we started rehearsing the show. It will be a dynamic on the show that you haven't seen, that makes the show more interesting, faster-paced." Shankman shared his enthusiasm for the dynamic duo who will be on stage setting the pace for the show. [Adam Shankman, Oscars Producer]: "Like old, wild and crazy guy Steve Martin. Like we haven't seen for awhile. You know, we've seen Steve be, you know, as a solo guy. He works so great with Alec. They have extraordinary chemistry.
