Pagan Easter has no followers yet. Be the first one to follow.
This video is inspired by"The Two Babylons" by Alexander Hislop, the websites linked here, and of course my inherent knowledge that holidays are commercial, silly and pagan.Btw,this isn't a Jehovah's Witness thing but rather a common sense thing. www.allaboutjesuschrist.org www.zenzibar.com www.albatrus.org
Ishtar, which is pronounced Easter was a day that commemorated the resurrection of one of the pagan gods also called Tammuz, who was believed to be the only begotten son of the moon-goddess and the sun-god. Lets go to the beginning of time, in ancient times, a man Nimrod, who was the grandson of one of Noahs son named Ham, had a son named Cush who married a woman named Semiramis. Cush and Semiramis then had a son named him Nimrod. After the death of Nimrod father, he took his own mother and married her. Nimrod became a god-man to the people and Semiramis, his wife and mother, became the powerful Queen of ancient Babylon. Nimrod was eventually killed and his body was cut in pieces but Semiramis had all of the parts gathered, except for his reproductive organ. Semiramis claimed that Nimrod could not come back to life without it and told the people of Babylon that Nimrod had ascended to the sun and was now to be called Baal, the sun god. Semiramis also proclaimed that Baal would be present on earth in the form of a flame, (candle) when used in worship. Semiramis creating a religion and set herself up as a goddess. Astarte or Ishtar was the main female deity, and is known in the Bible as the Queen of Heaven. She taught that the moon was a goddess that went through a 28 day cycle and ovulated when full. She further claimed that she came down from the moon in a giant moon egg that fell into the Euphrates River. Semiramis became known as Ishtar which is pronounced Easter, and ...
This Video does come under the fair use act. www.copyright.gov UK Fair Dealing library.leeds.ac.uk 09 September 2009 — The name "Easter" originated with the names of an ancient Goddess and God. The Venerable Bede, (672-735 CE.) a Christian scholar, first asserted in his book De Ratione Temporum that Easter was named after Eostre (aka Eastre). She was the Great Mother Goddess of the Saxon people in Northern Europe. Similarly, the "Teutonic dawn goddess of fertility [was] known variously as Ostare, Ostara, Ostern, Eostra, Eostre, Eostur, Eastra, Eastur, Austron and Ausos." Her name was derived from the ancient word for spring: "eastre." Similar Goddesses were known by other names in ancient cultures around the Mediterranean, and were celebrated in the springtime. Some were: -Aphrodite from ancient Cyprus -Ashtoreth from ancient Israel -Astarté from ancient Greece -Demeter from Mycenae -Hathor from ancient Egypt -Ishtar from Assyria -Kali, from India -Ostara a Norse Goddess of fertility. An alternative explanation has been suggested. The name given by the Frankish church to Jesus' resurrection festival included the Latin word "alba" which means "white." (This was a reference to the white robes that were worn during the festival.) "Alba" also has a second meaning: "sunrise." When the name of the festival was translated into German, the "sunrise" meaning was selected in error. This became "ostern" in German. Ostern has been proposed as the origin of the word "Easter". Oh foolish and untoward generation. How long will love simplicity? Let us rightly divided the scriptures and study what Easter, Resurrection Sunday, Palm Sunday, and Good Friday are all hellbound pagan practices.

SisterSunnShine explores the true history of Lent and Easter and explains why these holidays are not for Christians to celebrate. These holidays are from Babylon and belong to followers of pagan religions. The early church did NOT celebrate Lent or Easter and neither should we. Even in the Bible itself, many of God's own chosen people actually followed the customs of numerous Easter goddesses, with her name spelled in the King James Bible as "Ashtaroth" and "Ashtoreth." In different languages and through a variety of cultures, the name of this deity who in reality does not even exist is spelled different ways, including Ishtar, Astarte, Ostara, Eostre and Eastre. For those who have never seen Easter in this light before, take a look at what Scripture itself has to say. I'm adding emphasis with the modern word in parentheses so you can see what God is really telling you: * "And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth (Easter)." (Judges 2:13) * "And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth (Easter)" (Judges 10:6) * "And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth (Easter) from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines." Easter is a pagan feast. Christians should separate themselves from it. There is only one feast that Christians should participate in.

Scott's Homepage - www.sermonaudio.com Scott's Forum - www.endtimescurrentevents.freeforums.org 8th April 2007 In this teaching we will be focusing on the history of Easter, exploring its disturbing undeniable Pagan roots. To be objective I have endeavored to garner input from not only Christian sources but also Catholic and Pagan sources as well; and as you will see all three sides are in agreement as to Easter's Pagan origin and history. We will explore exactly when the holiday of Easter was incorporated into the Roman Catholic Church at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD; whereby this practice then started to permeate and leaven many other branches of Christianity. Of further note we will prove how the date of Easter is always determined by (the Biblically forbidden practice of) Astrology and how its date changes every year as a result. If this were the true date of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, HOW COULD IT CHANGE? We will also be looking at Easters close ties to Pagan goddess known as Ishtar and the specific associations and practices of Easter like: The Easter Bunny, Colored Eggs, Lent, Ash Wednesday, Hot Cross Buns, Spring Break, The Easter Ham, Wicker Easter Baskets, Easter Sunrise Service, Mardi Gras, etc... Lastly we will explore why only the King James Version translates the Greek word pascha to Easter (instead of Passover) in Acts 12:4; and how this is one more proof of the superiority of the Authorized King James Version.

Why do Christians use the trappings of pagan festivals to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus when the Bible commands believers to avoid such things? Oh, by the way, HAPPY EASTER!
Correction: Passover in 2009 or Pesach in 2009 will commence either just after sunset or just after nightfall on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, depending on the authoritative rabbinical opinion one follows. Nightfall is defined in Jewish law as being "the end of sunset", and occurs anytime from 20 minutes to 1 hour after sunset, depending on one's geographic latitude and where one is located. I'm sorry for any confusion I might have caused. Easter is a pagan observance of the dawn-goddess, the ...
