Red Sox win the first game of the doubleheader 3-1 win over the Rays
BOSTON -- Shortly after recording his 28th save of the season in a 3-1 Boston Red Sox win over the Tamp Bay Rays, Jonathan Papelbon found some relaxation by bringing a bow and arrow out to center field at Fenway and working on his archery skills. He placed a white square target up against the center field wall, about 20 feet to the right of the "379" foot marker in left-center. After firing a series of arrows and hitting the target every time from marked-off distances in center. The bows and target remained out on the field for most of the time between the day-night double header as neither team took batting practice on the field.

BOSTON -- Prior to Monday's game with the Kansas City Royals, pitchers Josh Beckett, Daniel Bard and Jonathan Papelbon turned back the clock to spring training with some pitcher's fielding practice at Fenway Park. The trio took turns fielding balls back to them and firing to second base, as they would when fielding a bunt and trying to force the lead runner at second base. Beckett, Bard and Papelbon also took turns fielding soft grounders to either side of the mound and back to the box and throwing onto first base from various arm angles.
Jonathan Papelbon enters the Red Sox game at Fenway Park on 7/5/11
Two Red Sox players with some big question marks hanging over their heads heading into 2011 were fan-favorites Jacoby Elsbury and Jonathan Papelbon. Elsbury's injury-plagued 2010 and Papelbon's up-and-down (mostly down) previous two seasons warranted causes for concern for both of them, but they have rebounded this year, cementing themselves as key cogs in the machine of a team that the Sox currently are. Marc Normandin takes a look at both players and whether or not both will be sticking around for the long haul.
