14-13 = part 126 of series Next: 14-14: www.youtube.com Playlist 7: www.youtube.com List of uploads within playlist: berties-teapot.blogspot.com Main channel: www.youtube.com Thewriters of the Bible were less concerned with historical accuracy than with allegorical tales with a purpose. The accepted view is that the Deuteronomistic historian redacted earlier works. Their revision of history aimed to maintain the national cultural and religious identity of Israel following a series of devastating military defeats. Redaction criticism examines the evidence of revisionist editing (redaction). The books of the Torah (Pentateuch) contain numerous internal contradictions -- differences in content, vocabulary, and writing style. These differences are evidence of multiple authors (Documentary Hypothesis). The consensus among many biblical scholars is that there are four main sources (known as J, E, D, and P). These sources contributed to the first five books of the Hebrew Bible—Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Further, the final editors are termed as R (redactors). Thus, those responsible for the Hebrew Bible are collectively referred to as J, E, P, D, and R -- where J=Yahwist, E=Elohist, D=Deuteronomist, P=Priestly; and R=Redactors. Speaker Biography: Rae Armantrout is the 2010 winner of the Pulitzer Prize for poetry for "Versed" (Wesleyan Poetry Press), which the Pulitzer committee cited as "a book striking for its wit and linguistic inventiveness, offering poems that are often little thought-bombs detonating in the mind long after the first reading." Google Tech Talk September 2, 2010 ABSTRACT Presented by Julien Sobrier. For some time, attackers have leveraged Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques in order to promote malicious web content targeting end users. Google has researched this phenomenon and recently announced that fake antivirus pages now represent 60% of the malware associated with popular search terms and these attacks continue to grow in prevalence. The Zscaler Research Team has also shown that some popular search terms from Google Trends, have malicious links to fake antivirus pages in up to 90% of all links within the first 100 results returned. Attackers have even managed to display malicious links as the first result for popular searches. Moreover, we have found that more than 50% of popular searches contain at least one malicious spam SEO link in the first 10 pages. Is Google doing enough to protect its users? In this talk, we'll debate that question. Julien Sobrier, from Zscaler, will talk about Blackhat spam SEO on Thursday 09/02 and address the following: • What is Blackhat spam SEO? • How do attackers leverage spam SEO? • How prevalent are spam SEO attacks? • What different types of attacks are involved? • What can search engines do to better protect end users? • How can end users protect themselves?
Clip thanks to www.medstores.net "ATM-like" vending machines that some drugstores and grocery stores in California and Virginia have installed or plan to install to dispense prescription drugs. After customers fill an initial prescription with a pharmacist, they can register to receive and pay for refills through the machines, regardless of whether the pharmacy is open. Customers can order refills online or by telephone, and a pharmacist fills their prescriptions and places the packaged medications in the machine. Customers log on to the machine with a user name and password and can pay for refills with a credit or debit card. To allow the use of the machines, the California Board of Pharmacy and the Virginia Board of Pharmacy have issued waivers of rules that require the presence of pharmacists when prescription drugs are dispensed, and other state pharmacy boards might issue similar waivers. In California, the state pharmacy board has proposed a permanent rule revision, on which the state Office of Administrative Law likely will decide early next year, that would eliminate the need for such waivers. In addition, the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board recently met with two companies that distribute the machines as part of an effort to improve access to prescription drugs for residents in rural areas. Some pharmacists and state regulators have raised concerns that customers who use the machines might receive incorrect prescription drugs. However, Bill Holmes -- president ...

Final version now available! youtube.com mediatedcultures.net Web 2.0 in just under 5 minutes. This is the 2nd draft, and I plan on doing one more final draft. Please leave comments on what could be changed or improved, or what needs to be excluded or included. Subscribe if you want to be notified when the revision is released. UPDATE I just added this video to Mojiti where you can actually write your comments into the video itself. It is an exciting experiment in "Video 2.0". Go check it out at mojiti.com and add your voice! Transcripts are now available as well: mediatedcultures.net A couple of people have noted that the statement, "XML was created to do just that" (separate form from content) is misleading because CSS enables the same effect with HTML. I tried to integrate CSS into the video, but it ruined the flow. Perhaps in the next draft. My statement on XML is based on the following from xml.com: "In order to appreciate XML, it is important to understand why it was created. XML was created so that richly structured documents could be used over the web. The only viable alternatives, HTML and SGML, are not practical for this purpose. HTML, as we've already discussed, comes bound with a set of semantics and does not provide arbitrary structure." Thank you all for the comments. With your help the next draft will be cleaned up and hopefully free of factual errors. A higher quality version is available for download here: www.mediafire.com Please note that this is the ...
The forex headline number for Non Farm Payrolls was bad today. So the EUR should skyrocket... right? Wrong! Why did the USD strengthen after a terrible NFP release? Last month was revised upward by 60000 jobs. Professional FOREX Traders expected a poor NFP, but no one saw this huge positive revision coming. Boom! As a result, the cable and euro dropped. As usual, a forex trade opportunity developed at the close of the 5 minute candle and a break of support... or a lower low. Pivots and Fibs then predicted likely bottoms.
