1989 For nearly 50 years, the world has believed President Franklin D. Roosevelt's declaration that the Pearl Harbor attack was a completely unexpected assault on a neutral nation. Sacrifice at Pearl Harbor tells another, hidden story - using actual recording of intercepted diplomatic communications, declassified government documents, archival footage and interviews with diplomats and spies from around the world. We now know that intelligence operatives from the US and three Allied nations monitored the Japanese fleet's progress on its deadly mission to Oahu in late 1941. Yet neither Admiral Kimmel nor General Short received a word of warning that might have allowed them to avert the sacrifice of 4000 American casualties in less than 90 minutes. conspiracyscope.blogspot.com

Ray Garland is one of the few survivors from the December 7th, 1941, Pearl Harbor attacks still living. I had the opportunity in 2008 to sit down and get his story. Ray is a remarkable man with an amazing story that goes beyond the attacks at Pearl Harbor.
Putting 9/11 in historical perspective, Weber takes a look at terrorism in history. He compares and contrasts the 9/11 horror with the 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, and the British-American fire-bombing of Hamburg in July 1943, which took the lives of 40000 civilians. Weber compares how Americans marked the tenth anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack with the tenth anniversary remembrance of 9/11, and explains why the national commemorations have been so different. www.ihr.org www.ihrstore.com www.fpp.co.uk reasonradionetwork.com
The attack on Pearl Harbor (called Hawaii Operation or Operation AI by the Japanese Imperial General Headquarters (Operation Z in planning)and the Battle of Pearl Harbor) was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941 (December 8 in Japan). The attack was intended as a preventive action in order to keep the US Pacific Fleet from interfering with military actions the Empire of Japan was planning in Southeast Asia against overseas territories of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States. The Navy and Marine Corps suffered a total of 2896 casualties of which 2117 were deaths (Navy 2008, Marines 109) and 779 wounded (Navy 710, Marines 69). The Army (as of midnight, 10 December) lost 228 killed or died of wounds, 113 seriously wounded and 346 slightly wounded. In addition, at least 57 civilians were killed and nearly as many seriously injured. O Almighty Lord God, who neither slumberest nor sleepest; Protect and assist, we beseech thee, all those who at home or abroad, by land, by sea, or in the air, are serving this country, that they, being armed with thy defence, may be preserved evermore in all perils; and being filled with wisdom and girded with strength, may do their duty to thy honour and glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. The bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese on December 7, 1941 killed over 2400 Americans and led directly to the entry of the United States into World War II. In his powerful, thickly researched new book, December 1941: 31 Days That Changed America and Saved the World, Craig Shirley chronicles the day-by-day shifts in American culture, politics, and national identity through that horrible month. Before December, Shirley tells Reason's Nick Gillespie, a solid majority opposed entry into World War II and the "eminently respectable" America First movement was poised to help select the next president of the United States. Non-interventionism was so universal that Franklin Roosevelt himself had campaigned for his third term as president on a promise to keep "American boys" out of European wars. By the start of 1942, says Shirley, the long tradition of isolationism was over, never to be seen again. The nation that had rejected the League of Nations after World War I helped create the United Nations and America quickly became not simply a global economic, political, and military power but the dominant player on the globe. The author of many books, including two biographies of Ronald Reagan and a forthcoming book on Newt Gingrich, Shirley talks with Reason's Nick Gillespie about what was gained - and lost - in the historical hinge point that was December 1941. December 7, 2011 marks the 70th anniversary of the bombing of an American naval base in Hawaii by Japanese aircraft, signalling the United States' entry into World War 2. At exactly 7:55am on that fateful day, Japan awakened the American "sleeping giant," bombing the US Pacific Fleet anchored in Hawaii. In two hours some 20 ships were sunk or damaged and 164 planes destroyed. Of the 2400 who died, nearly half were killed in a matter of seconds aboard the giant USS Arizona battleship, when a bomb detonated the ship's munitions depot, igniting a conflagration that burned for three days. Denouncing "a date which will live in infamy," president Franklin Roosevelt declared war on Japan, leading the United States into the Second World War at a time when many of his countrymen had hoped to avoid the conflict. Three days later, Germany declared war on the United States. The US entry was to change the course of the conflict. Read more: www.telegraph.co.uk In pictures: www.telegraph.co.uk

James Moores said he was "an 18-year-old snot-nosed kid" 70 years ago today aboard the destroyer tender USS Dobbin anchored at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. "I was an 18-year-old man by the end of that day," he said. Moores, 88, of East Drumore Township, had enlisted in the Navy in 1941 after graduation from high school in his native Deer Park, Ohio. The Great Depression lingered, and, he said, "there weren't any jobs." In downtown Cincinnati he spotted a sign picturing Uncle Sam that read "I want you for the Navy." Read more: lancasteronline.com

I developed this piece as a way to provide atribute of sorts to the remaining survivors of the attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 Dec. 1941. I had seen a couple of years ago a news/documentary piece on on sole survivor of a unit who had met yearly since the end of WWII, and this person was the last remaining soldier. The piece was short, and lacked much bgy way of information, but I could see a vision of this one old man, a retired soldier gazing at his face in the mirror of a back bar, examining the graying hair, and the lines of age creeping across his face. Toasting one last time the members of his unit that had passed, knowing full well there would be no one to toast and commemorate his passing. This video is a tribute, and a toast to those last remaining survivors of Pearl harbor.

The attack was intended as a preventive action in order to keep the US Pacific Fleet from interfering with military actions the Empire of Japan was planning in Southeast Asia against overseas territories of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States. The base was attacked by 353 Japanese fighters, bombers and torpedo planes in two waves, launched from six aircraft carriers. All eight US Navy battleships were damaged, with four being sunk. All but two of the eight were raised, repaired and returned to service later in the war. The Japanese also sank or damaged three cruisers, three destroyers, an anti-aircraft training ship, and one minelayer. One hundred eighty-eight US aircraft were destroyed; 2402 Americans were killed[12] and 1282 wounded. The power station, shipyard, maintenance, and fuel and torpedo storage facilities, as well as the submarine piers and headquarters building (also home of the intelligence section) were not attacked. Japanese losses were light: 29 aircraft and five midget submarines lost, and 65 servicemen killed or wounded. One Japanese sailor was captured. The attack came as a ...

On the 70th anniversary of the attack, Pearl Harbor survivors share their stories about the day of infamy.
Legendo Entertainment 2007 Attack on Pearl Harbor was first demonstrated at the San Diego Comic-con 2007. It is a semi-realistic flight simulator in which players can have random dogfights or play as either USAAF pilot Douglas Knox or Japanese pilot Zenji Yamada. Like Ace Combat, it is highly streamlined and skips realism in exchange for gameplay. Aircraft carry unlimited ammunition, limited only by overheating (machine guns) and reloading times (rockets, bombs, and torpedoes) It can be controlled via the mouse, a joystick, or an Xbox 360 controller. The WiiWare version was released on July 5, 2010 as Pearl Harbor Trilogy - 1941: Red Sun Rising. Aircraft can be separated into three distinct categories. Fighters include the A6M Zero, the P-40 Warhawk, the F4U Corsair, and the Supermarine Seafire. They are highly manoeuvrable and sport a single rocket as a secondary weapon. They are best used against less manoeuvrable divebombers and torpedo bombers. They are also the only type of aircraft that do not sport a rear gunner. Dive-bombers include the SBD Dauntless, the Nakajima J1N "Gekko", and the Aichi D3A. Carrying a trio of bombs, they are most effective against surface targets and ships. A white targeting pipper on the ground aids the player in placing their bombs. An AI-controlled rear gunner will assist the player in keeping enemy fighters away. Torpedo bombers include the TBM Avenger and the Nakajima B5N "Kate". Both drop a single torpedo that can travel underwater and ...

DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org December 7th (1943) is a propaganda film produced by the US Navy and directed by John Ford, about the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, the event which sparked the Pacific War and American involvement in World War II. The film begins with a chronological breakdown of the events of December 7, starting with the town of Honolulu gradually waking up and coming to life in the morning. A young private is credited with intercepting some vital information which his superiors dismiss; other sailors play baseball or attend religious services. Then, "like locusts", the Japanese planes start humming over the air above Oahu, and begin the now infamous attack on American military installations on the island, including the sinking of the Arizona, and the bombing of Hickam Field. All the while, back in Washington, Japanese diplomats are still talking with Secretary of State Cordell Hull. An animated sequence is then shown, with a large radio tower over Japan, broadcasting a fictional speech by Prime Minister Hideki Tojo. The narrator contradicts most of the "facts" that the Japanese leader tells his listeners in Tokyo, Kobe, and Okure. After the attack Honolulu isn't quite the same; the island is put under martial law, barbed wire and other protective barriers are set up in case of invasion and even children have to be evacuated and given gas masks. The film is notable for its sympathetic depiction of the Japanese in Hawaii, and the ...

This footage of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was shot by CWO4 Clyde Daughtry. The original footage has since been lost, and the poor quality of this footage is due to the fact that it is a copy, and believed to be the best remaining version of this film in existence. Among the many valuable portions of this footage are shots of USS Nevada (BB-36) underway and firing back at Japanese aircraft, USS Oglala (CM-4) rolling over and sinking, and USS St. Louis underway (CL-4). The whole US foreign policy is "a CIA inside job". Starting with Poppy Bush, America was hijacked by a criminal syndicate running a global racketeering and trerrorism scam. Leon Panetta is telegraphing a punch, instilling the fear prior to the event to begin the taxpayer funded "security" extortion and govenrment control of the freedom of information. The Cherftoff group planned this years ago, then Israel carried it out with the Suxnet virus attack on Iran. Panetta and his buddies can gain power and control by false flag hacking the US internet creating the need for more Leon Panetta and Obama to save the world for trillions. Bear in mind that in 1993, Leon Panetta was chosen by President Clinton to be Director of the United States Office of Management and Budget. In 1994 Mr. Clinton appointed Panetta to be his Chief of Staff, a position which he held until 1997. As chief of staff, Mr. Panetta sat in on the daily intelligence briefings, and in his previous post as director of the Office of Management and Budget, he reviewed the nation's most secret intelligence-collection and covert-action programs. Eric Holder was Bill Clinton's Deputy Attorney General from 1997 till 2001. In May of 2009, during his confirmation hearing in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, then-Attorney General nominee Eric Holder was grilled by Senators Lamar Alexander and Richard Shelby about his role in the CIA's "rendition" program under Bill Clinton: Didn't that [extraordinary renditions ...
