Charles Ives (1874-1954) Three Outdoor Scenes (1898-1911) for orchestra I. Hallowe'en 0:00 II. The Pond (Remembrance) 1:54 III. Central Park in the Dark 3:13 New York Philharmonic, Leonard Bernstein (I. and III.) Music Projects/London, Richard Bernas (II.) Paintings: Keith Tyson I'm probably making a mistake, but as far as it seems the only complete recording of Ives' "Three Outdoor Scenes" is an out of print LP (William Strickland and Members of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra). Then I decided to assemble this splendid set putting together different recordings of the single movements. I hope you appreciate it!

Free philharmonic concert @Central Park 07-15-08
Part of their Concert in the Park series. They played Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, Beethoven's Symphony No. 4, Sibelius' Finlandia and on popular vote, played the Overture from William Tell by Rossini as their encore. This is pieces of it - the acoustics were amazing. The weather was perfect. The company was awesome. And the fireworks that followed were spectacular :)
NY Philharmonic plays in Central Park but we couldn't hear a thing, but who cares when you have cheese, crackers, wine and beer.
