Walking around town today taking care of taxes and noticed a lot of people were walking downtown. I being the sheep that I am, followed them. Found a bunch of people gathering in Pioneer Square and saw news cameras so I figured some famous person was showing up.... then they broke into a cirlce and started a little dance in front of me. What I didn't notice was the HUGE mob of people that I was standing in the middle of all of a sudden dancing to Glee music. Suprise of the day. Oh yeah, video was on my cell phone so the audio and video arn't really the best.

The Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD is pretty cool! This model has a SD Card reader that allows me to copy my CDs on a pocket size device instead of having that annoying CD visor case!!! Not to mention the fact that videos and pictures can be stored on SD cards as well. You can run a photo slide while listening to the radio. Videos have to be converted to Divx format for playback. I have movies, videos, and music on my 32gb iphone but if you get an incoming phone call...forget it. That's why prefer to use my 80gb Zune...as you see it works fine! And thanks to its rear RCA input jacks...I don't have any eye-sore cords sticking out of the front of the radio. This unit is also Rear Camera, Navigation, XM Radio, HD Radio, and Bluetooth ready. I'm about to add HD Radio...don't need that other stuff.
Long ago in Season 1 of WWCS, I did two episodes at nighttime in my backyard. They didn't turn out well because of the lack of lighting, fortunately we got stronger outdoor light bulbs so its hardly a problem anymore. I'm proud of Fort Mercy as a MOC. Though it isn't fully encased by a defensive wall, I figured it would be easier to film with one side of the fort's walls open for filming to be made (not to mention it takes up MUCH less pieces!). As for the episode itself, so much filming was cut out because of the 10 minute limit, which pains me because so much of it was interesting. But I'll throw those bits and pieces into future episodes. For those of you who missed the new term, "ITCA" it just basically is the Minifig New Land Empire's new science agency (Imperial Technologies and Chemicals Agency). Just an fyi ^_^ Enjoy!!!
Pioneers O Pioneers Written by Walt Whitman...Read by Will Geer. Music - Now We Are Free by: The Lyndhurst Orchestra & Enya I do not own these tracks but thought the poem could use some a background track. Hope you enjoy!
To make him speak I used this software called Crazy Talk I will upload a tutorial on this. I was so inspired by the Go Fourth campaign ad by Levi's. So I went online found this picture of George Washington got the poem audio and bam I brought him to life! I hope you enjoy this as much as I have. PS At the end of the audio there might be this scratch or screech right when it ends that will only last about 1 second. I tried my best to get rid of that part but I tried so please don't mind it it only happens in 1 second and it's at the end so yeah. Enjoy this wonderful speech by Walt Whitman Narrated by Will Geer. Also please note the background music is not in the audio itself the background music is made by me I used Pro Scores. **DISCLAIMER** Song: Pioneers! Pioneers! (America) O Pioneers! Come my tan-faced children, Follow well in order, get your weapons ready, Have you your pistols? Have you your sharp-edged axes? Pioneers! O pioneers! For we cannot tarry here, We must march my darlings, we must bear the brunt of danger, We the youthful sinewy races, all the rest on us depend, Pioneers! O pioneers! O you youths, Western youths, So impatient, full of action, full of manly pride and friendship, Plain I see you Western youths, see you tramping with the foremost, Pioneers! O pioneers! We debouch upon a newer mightier world, varied world, Ample, fresh, and strong the world we seize, Pioneers! O pioneers! We detachments steady throwing, Down the edges, through the passes, up the mountains steep, Perennial with the Earth, with Freedom, Law, and Love. -Walt Whitman (paraphrased of course...with visuals provided by Levi's....please don't sue me.) (^_^)!
The Levi's commercial 'Pioneers' is the video for this, and takes audio from the original Walt Whitman readings of his poem "Pioneers, O' Pioneers". Audio is also placed at the introduction and conclusion of the 'Pioneers' video. Enjoy. :) PS Levi's, please don't sue me...I'm just going forth lol.

Describes the evolution of American English from the Revolutionary War through the 1920s and the contribution of slang terms from segments of the population along with the influence of 1900s immigrants. Discusses the origin of a distinctive Canadian English when British Loyalists left the US for Canada after the American Revolution. This video is more about influences on American English vocabulary than differences in pronunciation and so there are not very many speech samples on this video. Ascribes heavy importance to too many different segments of the population for their influence on shaping a distinctive American English. These include: riverboat gambler English (13:20), fur trapper speech (19:30), influence of Spanish in the west (22:20), Italian contribution to food words (40:00). Discusses the role of the railroad's uniting the entire country in 1869 and the accents started merging. Notable figures are Alistaire Cooke (5:23) talking about Noah Webster's dictionary.
Well guys, I'm not immensely proud of this one, but at least you get to see my favorite character of What We Cannot See in his true form; his minifig form. You know who I'm talking about, the legendary Antroz, AKA Jim Hanks. I had to make an episode explaining what it was that put him behind bars (and ultimately become the subject of the bioengineering project "the Hanks Project"). I hope you guys will enjoy it. Oh yeah, the ending of this episode, rather foreboding for the future of this series yeah?
Well guys it seems I have successfully kept a steady upload rate between these episodes, so not a lot of waiting will need to be done. Tis the least i could do for you guys for being so patient with the massive delay a while back. Anyway, another fan-favorite character returns today in Episode 3; General George! Now all of the main minifig characters of Season 1 have already made it into Pioneers. Not a bad series eh? Trust me guys, I've got some plans for this series. ^_^ Oh yeah, after playing the first Metroid Prime, I wanted to sort of edit my plans for Pioneers to include a mining scene. The scene in this episode is MEANT to be similar to the Phazon Mines area of the first Prime. The music playing in the background is also the music playing while your in Phazon Mines. (great game guys, really)
Wow, four new videos in the same week after almost a year-long delay? What the frock is wrong with me?!?!!?!? XD Anyway guys, I'm hoping to get through this series pretty quick, so you won't have a lot of waiting to do between episodes (thank God.) This episode in particular is very personal to me, because it is actually roughly based off of things that occurred in my life. Respect it. o -_- b

Heres a virtual movie of the great Walt Whitman reading his celebrated poem "Pioneers! O Pioneers" A poem celebrating the great American urge to settle and farm the western prairies that surged in the years immediately following the Civil War. It was during these years that Walt Whitman was writing poems such as "Pioneers! O Pioneers!" dedicated to America's "youthful, sinewy races," "Western youths" drawn to the wide prairies. Walt Whitman (1819-1892) was a great traveller around the continent and a truly American poet. He was proud of the new nation, its races and its lands, its scenes and cities, its territorial and economic growth and believed in the mission America had in the world. Walt Whitman (1819-1892 was born in Long Island, New York, the son of a Quaker carpenter. Whitman's mother was descended from Dutch farmers. In Whitman's childhood there were slaves employed on the farm. Whitman was early on filled with a love of nature. He read classics in his youth and was inspired by writers such as Goethe, Hegel, Carlyle and Emerson he is best remembered for his long rambling collections of verse "Leaves of grass Kind Regards Jim Clark All rights are reserrved on this video recording copyright Jim Clark 2009 " published in his Leaves of Grass compilation in 1891. Walt Whitman (1819-1892 was born in Long Island, New York, the son of a Quaker carpenter. Whitman's mother was descended from Dutch farmers. I had 21 emerald arrows and I decided oh what the heck let's try emerald londga ruins. I already knew before hand that it could only be harmed via emerald arrows so I pulled out my Leather Long Bow(Pretty Fresh one at that) and plunged onward. The battle might have been easier if I wasn't bad at archery or missed quite a bit. I never was very good at archery. I prefer my melee. Anyways, I managed to defeat the Magic Emerald Golem with just 1 Emerald Arrow left. Talk about luck right there. Thank god for Rank 5 Critical Hit. I should try the topaz/Amthesyst one sometime.

In 1846, following the death of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young--the newly called and sustained Prophet--began what has termed "the Mormon Exodus" from Nauvoo, Illinois to The Great Salt Lake. Among those who would join Brigham Young in the Rocky Mountains were a group of eight hundred English converts aboard a ship named the Amazon. World famous author, Charles Dickens observed the cheerfulness of these emigrants before admitting his surprise. "I went aboard their ship," he said, "to bear testimony against them if they deserved it, as I fully believed they would; to my great astonishment they did not deserve it. In their degree, they were the pick and flower of England." While some stayed behind, many who heard the clear call of the Prophet Brigham followed with faith into an unknown future and in the process became acquainted with God; changing from Pioneers to Saints. This film is a tribute to those brave souls known in the history books as 'Pioneers' and to Mormons around the world as 'Heros'. The following story is taken from Elder Holland's talk entitled "As Doves to Our Windows" (Ensign, May 2000, 75). One other account from those early, faithful builders of modern Zion. John R. Moyle lived in Alpine, Utah, about 22 miles as the crow flies to the Salt Lake Temple, where he was the chief superintendent of masonry during its construction. To make certain he was always at work by 8 o'clock, Brother Moyle would start walking about 2 AM on Monday mornings. He would finish ...

For 25 years from July 1967, Thailand's Kwanchai Gomez was the International Rice Research Institute's chief statistician. She was also IRRI's first female international scientist in what was then a very male-dominated field. In 1993, Dr. Gomez moved out of statistics to work on donor relations as the head of the new Liaison, Coordination, and Planning Unit, which focused on an innovative experiment at the time: fund-raising. She returned to Thailand in December 1996 to spend 2 years at IRRIs Bangkok office and round off more than 3 decades with the Institute. Dr. Gomez, who remains in Bangkok, is currently executive director of the Asia Rice Foundation - www.asiarice.org -, which is based in IRRI's Philippine hometown of Los Baños. In this clip, she tells the story of how IRRI's director general first took notice of her: "When Klaus Lampe arrived as director general in 1988, I was just a working scientist and never had much of a chance to see him. However, one day, he called me to his office saying there was a problem: 'Your son Victor [who was 10 years old at that time] brought a fake gun to the international school today,' he frowned, 'and he had a real bullet as well. The school principal wasn't very happy about that.' I thought to myself, 'Oh, my god, how could Victor bring a real bullet to school and where did he get it from?' Then, Lampe immediately said, 'You know any boy at his age might do something like that. Dont worry too much about it.' With a great sigh of ...
