Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid Super Race Car First Look Geneva Motor Show 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid to Celebrate World Debut in Geneva Porsche AG will unveil the 911 GT3 R hybrid on March 4th in Geneva, exactly 110 years after Ferdinand Porsche developed the world's first car with hybrid drive, the Lohner Porsche Semper Vivus. This will open a new chapter in the history of Porsche with more than 20000 wins in 45 years scored by the extremely successful Porsche 911 in racing trim. The innovative hybrid technology featured in the car has been developed especially for racing, standing out significantly in its configuration and components from conventional hybrid systems. The car features electrical front axle drive with two electric motors developing 60 kw each supplements the 480-bhp four-litre flat-six at the rear of the 911 GT3 R Hybrid. A further significant point is that instead of the usual batteries in a hybrid road car, an electrical flywheel power generator fitted in the interior next to the driver delivers energy to the electric motors.

This is one of the most amazing race i have ever seen here at the track. It's the Sara GT championship race at night at the Misano racetrack. The race involved many Ferraris and Porsches; at night the noise is louder, and you can clearly see the flames coming out from the exhausts and the rotors glowing when they make some brutal brakings!

In addition to the new 911 Turbo revealed recently , the company is updating the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which it describes as "the definitive track-ready, street-legal 911." A new normally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-6 kicks out 450 horsepower, an increase of 15 hp over the standard GT3. The six-speed manual gearbox has shorter ratios and shorter gearshift travel — ideal for the track. The engine also sits on dynamic mounts that automatically adjust damping and stiffness to speed and driving conditions and exits through a titanium exhaust system.
Manager of High Performance Cars for Porsche, Andreas Preuninger, gave us the opportunity ride shotgun as he took the first produced 2010 Porsche GT3 RS out for a ride on the Autobahn.

Designed to be the ultimate rear-wheel drive sports car, the RS features a modified version of the GT3's 3.8-liter boxer engine. Peak output climbs to 450 hp, which is 15 hp more than the standard GT3.
