Franklin, the son of famed evangelist Billy Graham, told Fox News on Thursday that he loves Muslim people and wants them to know that God loves them, even if they can be saved only through Jesus Christ.

I had this readily available on my computer and thought I'd share it. The famous English translation of Mendelssohn's 'Hör mein bitten...O könnt ich fliegen', which sounds just as good as its German counterpart. Sung by the choir of the Leeds Parish Church of St. Peter, recorded in 1970, conducted by Donald Hunt with Anthony Langford on organ. The soloist treble (boy soprano) is Paul Dutton who was 13 years old at the time. His son William (see link below) is now also a very fine singer (I'm not sure if he still sings in the treble range). As I stared at her beautiful frame I was just moved to tears by what an amazing gift from God she really is. She was born with neurofibromatosis and is considered legally blind. Some would have advised while she was still in the womb that I should have had an abortion because she isn't "perfect". That would have been a tragedy. I like to think of myself as a huge Statler Brothers fan, but I am ashamed to say that I only learned of this song a couple of weeks ago. I didn't have to do any research on the song to know that this song came from the pen of their brilliant tenor, the late great Lew Dewitt, who passed away in August 1990 from complications of Crohn's Disease. It's a massively powerful song, perhaps maybe country music's answer to the Monkees' "Salesman" or the Stones' "Sister Morphine." This is a deep cut from their 1970 album, the socially conscious "Bed of Rose's," their first album in their 24-year affiliation with Mercury Records. The album peaked at #5 on the Billboard Country album charts and at #126 on the Billboard Pop album charts, which was one point lower than their 1966 album "Flowers on the Wall" peaked at. I compare the gospel to a glass table... when the Apostles were killed off that takes away the legs from under the table and the glass shatters.
