A música que acompanha o vídeo é: Coldplay - The Scientist.
I'm still working with the idea of 'religion' to see if I can find any use for it as a term or a concept, and have to say I'm not having much success. The nearest I've got so far is an understanding of it as 'binding' (based on the etymology of the word) and that this binding might be usefully applied to the various ways we have of accessing the data of the world. It might be quite nice if there was a holistic way of integrating first and third person perspectives, empirical knowledge of science and rationality, the intuitive physics of embodied engagements with the world and the theoretical physics of quanta and quark. Maybe if this whole kit and kaboodly could be tied up with a neat bow and made untitarily available to human understanding, then perhaps that would be a binding I might find attractive.
by anonymous through Professor Rev. Dr. James Kenneth Powell II, opensourcebuddhism.org This very insightful piece explains the similarites and differences between the Quantum physical view of the Universe and that of Buddhism. Once again, that great scientist and experientialist the Buddha, has had insights quite some millenia ahead of his time!
by Patrick Kirk through Professor Rev. Dr. James Kenneth Powell II, opensourcebuddhism.org This absolutely fascinating piece by Patrick Kirk based on the mereological nihilism of Jeffrey Grupp reveals how the Buddhists were right: reality is but "pinpoints" of quanta blipping in and out of reality, at the smallest level, the Planck length. We find in the end that our "fake" "projected" reality is the only one we will ever know. Really fantastic job.
www.encognitive.com In quantum mechanics, quantum tunneling is a micro nanoscopic phenomenon in which a particle violates the principles of classical mechanics by penetrating or passing through a potential barrier or impedance higher than the kinetic energy of the particle.[1] A barrier, in terms of quantum tunnelling, may be a form of energy state analogous to a "hill" or incline in classical mechanics, which classically suggests that passage through or over such a barrier would be impossible without sufficient energy. On the quantum scale, objects exhibit wave-like behaviour; in quantum theory, quanta moving against a potential energy "hill" can be described by their wave-function, which represents the probability amplitude of finding that particle in a certain location at either side of the "hill". If this function describes the particle as being on the other side of the "hill", then there is the probability that it has moved through, rather than over it, and has thus "tunnelled". http
