Helu Jr. and fellow junior Quentin Castille head into 2009 as proven performers at I-back, and the duo should give Nebraska one of the top rushing tandems in the Big 12 Conference. Helu's play late in the 2008 season earned him honorable-mention All-Big 12 honors from the league coaches, and he is poised to compete for bigger honors as a junior. The Californian finished as Nebraska's leading rusher with 803 yards, while averaging better than six yards per carry. The 6-0 Helu Jr. worked hard in Nebraska's off-season strength and conditioning program and now checks in at 215 pounds while maintaining the speed, elusiveness and vision that has made him a success during his first two seasons.
