In January 2009 he received The Omaggio al Bel Canto Best Interpretation Award at The Stelle dell'Anno Nuovo Festival in Boston, which was aired on Italy's RAI International TV. In March 2009 he was recognized by The Massachusetts State Senate with a citation, by Thomas Menino with a certificate, and a Bandwidth TV feature program about him premiered on Cambridge Community TV to be aired on several channels in Boston. Bülent Güneralp is also a drummer who performs in diverse genres from jazz to rock. He played drums and percussion in The Istanbul City Theaters Orchestra under the direction of conductor Önder Bali, collaborated with guitarist Fethi Hıncal, also was the drummer of the groups Sahtekar Sovalyeler and EOS. He now collaborates with different artists in Boston. Mr. Güneralp maintains a private voice studio in Boston, and is on the faculty at Quincy Point Music Academy as both Voice and Drums Instructor.
