WSR5553 Productions made a visit to the West Somerset Railway, to travel behind and Film 70000 Britannia on her duties before resuming her duties on the Main Line Network. Shots include from onboard the trains and from Stations. On this day the West Somerset was operating its Green Timetable with Two Steam Locomotives running plus the Diesel Multiple Unit. The train derailed in Uttar Pradesh leaving over 63 passengers dead and more than 140 injured, touting it to be the worst accident of this year. It was reportedly travelling at a speed of 108 Km/Hr when it derailed near Fatehpur Malwan railway station at 12.20 pm.
At least 35 people are feared dead and many more have been injured after the Howrah Kalka mail derailed near the town of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh.
At least 24 people have been killed and more than 150 injured in northern India when nearly a dozen coaches of a passenger train got derailed, officials said on Sunday. The accident occurred in Uttar Pradesh state when the driver of the train applied emergency brakes, said AK Jain, additional director general of the railway police. I was out for a drive near Kuna and I was about to cross the tracks when I saw the crossing activate for this West bound Pot ash train. It's a good thing I brought my cam along just in case!!! The cool thing was is that this train had and EMD SD90/43MAC as the second unit in. Normally you see all GE power on these Pot Ash trains. Thank you for watching!

Experiments demonstrating how powered rail behaves, with side-by-side comparisons to booster carts. The results: Booster carts and powered rail are roughly equivalent in all ways but one. Booster carts let you put a large amount of energy into a cart in one place, whereas powered rail gives you diminishing returns when trying to put energy into a cart. Conclusions: In most cases, booster carts and powered rail are similar. There's still reasons why you'd want to use one or the other. If you want to keep all your infrastructure in one area, booster carts let you give a mighty push at the start of a line. But booster carts usually have a delay before they start pushing your cart, and powered rail is nearly instant. Also, the only reliable runaway cart detectors I've seen require a booster cart.

During our Sledgehammer Testing runs, I just had the impromptu idea to have Yebache book it to the 300 yard engagement point for some long range shooting...fun! Weapon: a Sabre Defense SPR AR-15 in TNP for testing. With bolt/bolt carrier swapout, the gun finally ran 100% and did prove to be deadly accurate in our shooting. I would expect nothing less from a $2000 AR-15. The barrel execution on this SD SPR is particularly excellent (fluted 18"). Scope is a 6-24 Weaver with a Mil-dot reticle riding in a (gasp) UTG #168S ring mount. Ammo was 55 gr PMC FMJ. After one miss and a little instruction, Mr Yebache connects 9 out of 10 times on the 300 yd Actiontarget Torso plate. Well done Y!

It's a 10 scale mile model garden railway of 1 scale, in a 1/12 scale miniature village. The line was started circa 1929 and has been updated continuously for 80 years. We strapped a camera to the front of one of the engines and sent it off - we've added some subtitles so you can see what you're passing. Model railways rock. The huge model railway has evolved since those early years, from Bassett-Lowke LNER and GWR outline stock through to modern image British Rail - when at one time, class 47, class 37, Hymek, western class 53, intercity 125 and even DMU stock ran. In the early 1990s, interest in the railway's heritage regained, and it was decided to revert to a classic 1930s appearance. Therefore you'll now see classic GWR railmotors, EMU, GWR 94xx tank locos, LMS Jinty, SR Q Class and many more freelance locos on the route. The whole system is controlled by computer, interlocked with hundreds of relays for points and signal operation. Note that the signals are missing in this video, as they are currently all being refurbished. The complex trackwork around Maryloo station is controlled by a Westinghouse lever frame in the signal box (where this video begins and ends) when the signalman wants to intervene. This train was preset to run non-stop - but of course would need to stop if another train was in the block ahead of it ...

"Day of the Deltic" - Director's Cut It is a few weeks after the silent night when Nigel disappeared, and all the engines are wondering about how and why it happened. Gronk, the diesel shunter, is feeling guilty for his part in the affair, when a magnificent blue diesel arrives and starts causing trouble. It is only after a heated argument with the steam engines, that the Deltic reveals Gronk's infamy...and the engines are shocked to the core. Pulling an express, the Deltic fails, leaving Allen to take the train. Gronk removes the diesel and is interrogated by the engines. It is only with Stephen's timely intervention that Gronk is allowed to leave for the safety of Leeds Central... ...And Stephen issues a blunt warning to the other engines: "Our time has come".
