Well-known film director Ram Gopal Varma, on Sunday, received telephone calls threatening him with dire consequences if he goes ahead with his political drama 'Rakta Charitra'. According to sources, the calls allegedly came from the Obul Reddy group of Anantapur. Obul Reddy is the brother of Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy, better known as Suri, who is alleged to have plotted the murder of Anantapur TDP MLA Paritala Ravi. Rakta Charitra is supposed to be based on the life of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA late Paritala Ravi. Vivek Oberoi is essaying the role of Paritala Ravi in the movie.

The first one I posted earlier is of a different nature and this I borrowed from one of my all time favourite tracks of Ennio Morricone from the film "Exorcist II: The Heretic". Here's the latest on the Suriya-Vivek Oberoi-starrer Rakta Charitra (RC), directed by Ram Gopal Varma. The first look of the film and the theatrical trailer were released recently and if one is to go by Vivek's claims, the trailer is on top of the list of the 10 most watched Bollywood videos on the Internet. Vivek had recently tweeted, "Theatrical trailer of Rakta Charitra has raced ahead and has reached the No 1 spot in the Top 10 Videos within 12 hours of being featured." The actor was also full of praise for his co-star Suriya. He wrote, "Working with Suriya was an absolute delight, he's an extremely talented actor and it shows in RC." Rakta Charitra is reportedly based on the life of the slain political leaderParitala Ravindra and will be released in October in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Maverick film maker Ram Gopal Verma`s much-hyped movie Rakta Charitra, which is loosely based on the unmitigated violence and factional killings in Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh, is said to be the most violent film ever released in Bollywood. And just some time back the movie got into trouble, barely a month before its planned release. The Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission(APSHRC) called for a report from the regional film censor board following complaints from several organizations including Stree Shakti Sanghathana that the movie sought to promote violence and factionalism. Rakta Charitra, which is simultaneously being made in Telugu Tamil and Hindi is Verma`s most ambitious venture so far. The story is said to portray the never-ending war between Paritala Ravi and Maddelacheruvu Suri, two well known factionists-turned-politicians. Hyderabad-born Vivek Oberoi plays the role of the former, while Tamil superstar Surya is playing the role of the latter.

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi in a recent converse spoke about his upcoming movie Prince. The actor has done many daring stunts for his film Prince Its Showtime, but when it came to intimate scenes, it was his three leading ladies in the film who took care of him. All through the movie Vivek, who has lost 12 kilos for the film, will be seen doing daring stunts that needed rigorous physical training. The 33-year-old, who shares an intimate kissing scene with model-turned-actress Aruna Shields in the film, says he had to do several retakes to get it right. Directed by debutant Kooki Gulati, the film is about a quick-witted thief who wakes up one morning to realise that he has a gunshot on his arm and has absolutely no clue about how he got it because he has lost his memory. Vivek is currently working on Ram Gopal Varmas Rakta Charitra and has two other films in the pipelinetake a look!
'Prince' is being touted as a make or break film for fading star Vivek Oberoi and he claims to have given it all he had. Vivek says that the movie was out of his league of films and hence he volunteered to cut down on his fees so that movie could have been made on a grander scale.
