A particularly delightful SP to western music from one of the three dominating Chinese teams of the first 2000 decade, Pang and Tong. They had won a World Bronze in 2004, but dropped off the podium in this year. They would return to win a World title in 2006, and a Silver in 2007. I always felt the shined more with Oriental music, but they certainly have an artistic flair. He often reminds me of American pair skater, Randy Gardner.

Tai and pairs partner Randy Gardner won the World Figure Skating Championships in 1979 and were favored to win the gold at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York, before they had to withdraw due to an injury sustained by Randy. Tai and Randy also won the USNational championships five times. Tai has been through her share of personal struggles and it was great to see her in person at the event.
