Featherweight rivals Larry Mir and Chris Barden headline Tuff-N-Uff's returns to Las Vegas on April 23 Las Vegas' top amateur mixed martial arts promotion, Tuff-N-Uff, returns to the Orleans Hotel & Casino on Friday, April 23, and emotions are sure to be high as budding rivalries fill the evening's 15-bout lineup. Featherweight rivals Larry Mir (2-2) and Chris Barden (1-0) look to settle their differences in the evening's main event, while undefeated light heavyweight Nick Thompson (5-0) looks to silence the controversial John Gettle (3-0), who broke his opponent's arm in his most recent outing. Tickets for the event, which takes place at the Orleans Hotel & Casino's Mardi Gras Ballroom, start at just $25 and are available now at the Orleans Hotel & Casino's box office or online at OrleansCasino.com and TuffNUff.net. Barden made his amateur debut at Tuff-N-Uff's event in Mesquite, Nev., this past October, and he earned an impressive first-round knockout over Justin Vadnais, who is Mir's training partner and cousin to UFC president Dana White. Since that time, Barden and Mir have taken every opportunity to bash each other in various forms of social media. Twitter, MySpace and Facebook have hosted several trash-talking competitions between the two in the months since Barden's victory, and on April 23, the two will get a chance to settle their differences in the ring. Meanwhile, Gettle returns to action two months after breaking opponent William Kowalski's arm with a ...

Here's a shot of PBA champions Pete McCordic and Bill Lillard Sr. bowling in the 2010 USBC Open Championships Team Event. As many remember, Pete rolled one of the televised perfect games 23 years ago. He's up on the right hand lane wearing the gold shirt. Bill is in the USBC Hall of Fame and has a pro title on the PBA tour. He's competing in his 63rd consecutive USBC Open Championships tournament. He's the lead off bowler for the Palace Lanes team wearing the white striped shirt. Watch and enjoy!
For the 2010 USBC Open Championships Event, the tournament organizers had the teams scheduled to bowl a particular team event squad walk down the center aisle with "Start Me Up" by the Rolling Stones playing through the speakers all around the National Bowling Stadium. Last year's event they used "A Little Less Conversation" by Elvis Presley. I wonder what song they'll play during next year's parade?
Definitely the BEST ski/snowboard party of the year! Skiers and snowboarders took to Squaw Valley and Northstar for 2 full days of powder riding and returned to Grand Sierra Resort for the craziest Après-ski party hosted by DJ Lozci and a live concert by LMFAO. There were poker tournaments, midnight bowling and an outdoor hot pool party with a bikini contest. Stay tuned for next years Winter Break at www.RenoWinterBreak.com
Before bowling the doubles/singles set at the Open Championships this year I took some time to analyze the shots of some people who were scoring well in earlier squads from the same doubles/singles event. The following video is my analysis of the way they are playing the lines in comparison to how to expected the lanes to play based on the oil pattern. You can see the rest of my thought on my blog post here: mountsbowling.blogspot.com
USBC Open Championships bowler John Johnson wins $10 million in Reno while in town to bowl the tournament.
Here is a short video of my sister and myself in the 2010 Special Olympics National Unified Tournament. We are wearing the black shirts (they look black in the video but they are black/red). We had a great time and met some wonderful people from all across the country. We ended up winning 2 Gold Medals in our division!!! Had a ton of fun and ended up winning!!! Can't beat that!!!

This is a small clip of me bowling at the 2004 ABC National Tournament in Reno, NV. It was the last game of singles and I had a 4-bagger going into the 9th frame with a chance to shoot a 670 set. The rest is history!

This is a small clip of me bowling at the 2004 ABC National Tournament in Reno, NV. It was the last game of singles and I had a 4-bagger going into the 9th frame with a chance to shoot a 670 set. The rest is history! -- As an addendum, the split I left was a 7-9, the 5-pin was in the rack, and we were bowling on experimental Twister pins. They react entirely differently than "normal" pins and certain hits can really only happen with the Twisters.
Great Detroit lefty with a smooth and powerful bowling stroke in tournament on sport condition in Reno.
Brian Mounts - 3 Frames of Bowling at the San Diego USBC Masters Bowling Tournament, March 11, 2007. I didn't do so hot.
I have mixed feelings about arena finals. On one hand, they are unfair to the tournament leaders who have dominated at a particular bowling center, gotten accustomed to the lanes, and have worked hard to win the top spot. Put them in an arena and their advantage, except for their top seed, flies away. On the other hand, arena finals are tons of fun for the viewers both in the arena and at home, as the bowlers often give outstanding performances (think Bob Learn, Jr.) and throw lots of strikes. The final of the 1998 PBA National Finance Championship between Brian Voss and Walter Ray Williams, Jr. has to rank among the most exciting. Lots of strikes, a clutch 10th frame, and big-time emotion out of both players. I think the audience in Virginia Beach was on speed. Part 2 of 2.
