Richard Smallwood, along with the Union Temple Baptist Church Reunion Choir, ministers with "Give Us Peace," a song that he wrote back in 1975. This song was recorded by Edwin Hawkins and the Music & Arts Seminar Mass Choir on their 1987 album of the same name---"Give Us Peace" Richard Smallwood was the original keyboardist and director for this Union Temple choir back in the 60s and 70s. Union Temple Baptist Church was founded by Richard's step-father, the late Rev. Chester Smallwood.

Jacki Ruffin leads "I've Got Something," backed by the Union Temple Young Adult REUNION Choir. "I've Got Something" is the same song that Ms. Ruffin led on the very first album of the Richard Smallwood Singers back in 1982. The choir is accompanied by Richard Smallwood on the piano, who was the original director of this choir. If you look closely in the front row of the choir on the right side of the clip---the lady fanning herself with the papers is R&B singer Angela Winbush, who was an original member of the Richard Smallwood Singers back in the '70s.
Richard Smallwood ministers with a piano solo of the much-loved hymns "It Is Well" and "Come, Ye Disconsolate," which seques into a church-wide reprisal of "It Is Well." This can be found on his HIT CD "Persuaded: Live In DC" The lady who is obviously quite touched by the piano solo is Richard's mother, the late Mabel R. Smallwood.
