This is the complete service, in four parts, of the Pernell Roberts Memorial Service held in Waycross, Georgia, on August 21, 2010. Waycross is Pernell Roberts' hometown. The lady doing the presentation is the organizer of the event, Helen-Anne Coviello. Pernell Elven Roberts, Jr. (May 18, 1928 -- January 24, 2010) was one of the most underrated performers of our time. He was an incredibly talented stage, movie and television actor, as well as singer. In addition to guest starring in over 60 television series, he was widely known for his roles as Ben Cartwright's eldest son, Adam Cartwright, on the western series Bonanza, a role he played from 1959 to 1965 — and as chief surgeon Dr. John McIntyre, the title character on Trapper John, MD (1979--1986). He also starred in several movies, including Desire Under the Elms, Ride Lonesome, The Sheepman, and Night Train to Kathmandu.

Here are the best scenes from Pernell Roberts' second feature movie, RIDE LONESOME. He starred in this movie with Randolph Scott just a year before he debuted as Adam Cartwright on the BONANZA television show. His wonderful Southern accent is probably the genuine thing, as he grew in up Waycross, Georgia and attended college in Georgia. In my opinion, this is one of the finest acting roles of his career.
"Slow Ride" is a song composed by 'Lonesome' Dave Peverett and recorded by the rock band Foghat, appearing in 1975 on their fifth album "Fool For The City". This was Foghat's most successful single, peaking at number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also appears on the 1977 album "Foghat Live", which was their best-selling album at over two million copies. In 2009, "Slow Ride" was named the 45th best hard rock song of all time by VH1. Foghat are a British rock band who had their peak success in the mid- to late-1970s. Their style can be described as 'blues-rock', dominated by the electric and electric slide guitars. The band has achieved five gold records. The group remained popular during the disco era, but their popularity waned in the early 1980s. There are 5 versions of "Slow Ride" on the market.
