Official BMW Sports Trophy video released at the awards event December 2009. The video features BMW racing snapshots from around the world including two shorts scenes from SCCA NARRC and TeamDI.com Pro IT Series racing in the USA. SCCA racer Robert Thiele scored his second consecutive Sports Trophy win in 2009 (11th globally, after a 25th place 2008). Just like 2008, Robert Thiele was the only representative from the USA to be awarded a 2009 Sports Trophy. Thiele's teammates from the BMW racing team Auto Technic in New Milford, Connecticut, scored impressive 35th (Jeff Henderson) and 49th (Rob Driscoll) places in the global competition underlining the team's successful track record. Other 2009 BMW Sports Trophy winners included Colin Turkington, who won this season's British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) in a BMW 320si WTCC and ranked first place overall, Swedish Touring Car pilots Richard Goeransson (second) and Thed Bjoerk (third), BTCC driver Robert Collard (fourth), as well as last years overall winner, World Touring Car championship (WTCC) privateer Franz Engstler (fifth). Other USA contestants in the top 50 included Matthew Bell (KONI Challenge)26th, Seth Thomas (Speed World Challenge) 32nd and Chris Gleason (KONI Challenge) 46th. The top 25 BMW privateer drivers were honored by BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen and BMW works drivers at the annual Sports Trophy event and celebration in Munich on December 5th, 2009. Spice Girl, Mel C, organised a number of events for raising money for Breast Cancer. On the eve of race day, some of the Leyland Paints grid girls ran (about 8 metres) to get every in the mood for the real running race around the GP circuit. I spoke to Rob Collard befor the race about his rubber selection for his trainers. After seeing the girls, he replied "hard".

A few clips at The Rockingham circuit hosting the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship's annual Media Day event - on Thursday 19 March.
Airwaves BMW drivers Jonny Adam and Rob Collard took a break from their preparations for the latest round of the MSA Touring Car Championship to get a taste of the Knockhill circuit from a different angle as they linked up with Team JapSpeed drift drivers Shane Lynch and Danny Eyles for a passenger ride. Boyzone star Lynch and JapSpeed team mate Eyles are at the Scottish circuit to give a drifting demonstration today and were delighted to interrupt their practice session to give Adam and Collard a thrilling high-speed trip around the track. The Airwaves BMW drivers certainly got a unique perspective on the Scottish circuit as the Team JapSpeed duo showed their incredible skills drifting their cars sideways around the corners at speeds of over 100mph. Collard compared notes with Lynch while Adam linked up with Team JapSpeeds up-and-coming star Eyles, finishing the session with a side-by-side lap of the track to give them a real taste of the excitement of drifting. Adam and Collard will be back in their own cars today aiming for BTCC glory after an outstanding qualifying performance which sees them occupying third and fifth place on the grid. Airwaves BMW Team driver Jonny Adam said: That was mega. It is totally different to what we do. The way they approach the corners is amazing and they really use the whole width of the circuit.
