I take no credit. Some parts in the limo Trent's lyrics don't match his lips. As the original video was intended for the edited (clean) version. The ending was hard for me to match to the music as all the flashing lights and quick edits made it hard for me to match. I did the best I could. Enjoy. The music video for "Starfuckers, Inc." revolves around the same themes as the song in a darkly humorous manner. Reznor and an attractive blonde ride in a limousine to a deserted carnival. With the blonde videotaping his antics, Reznor attacks images of famous musicians via sideshow games: he shatters plates adorned with faces (including Marilyn Manson, Fred Durst, Mariah Carey, Billy Corgan, Michael Stipe, and Gene Simmons), tosses CDs into a toilet (Manson's Mechanical Animals & Smells Like Children and NIN's The Downward Spiral are visible), and throws baseballs through busts of Billy Corgan and himself. The most explicit mockery is Reznor dunking an obese Courtney Love look-a-like into a waste tank. The video ends back in the limousine, where the blonde removes her wig to reveal "her" identity as Marilyn Manson. The video was directed by Robert Hales and Marilyn Manson. Viewers took Manson's appearance in the video as a sign that Reznor and Manson had renewed their friendship. Manson has sung "Starfuckers, Inc." live with the band once, with the video recording of this performance appearing as an easter egg on the And All that Could Have Been DVD.
Formed in London, Ontario, their origins began in 1970 when high school friends guitarist/singer Joe de Angelis and Bill Durst on keyboards/guitars began jamming together in the garage, quickly recruiting bass player James Corbet and Ed Pranskus on drums. They began playing the local scene as Pink Orange, doing mostly Beatles/Stones/Led Zeppelin covers, all the while 'getting it together'. They soon graduated to the Toronto bar circuit where they developed a loyal cult-like following. After changing their name, they were noticed by manager Wyn Anderson one night while playing, who secured them a deal with Greg Hambleton's local Axe Records. With Hambleton and Terry Brown (most noteable for his production work later with Rush and Klaatu) behind the controls, they went into Toronto Sound Studios in the spring of '72. Their debut THUNDERMUG STRIKES was released that summer with their cover of The Kinks' "You Really Got Me" as the first single. But when radio stations began playing "Africa" off the lp as well, direction changed. They left the confines of headlining with The Srawbs across central Canada to their own smaller venues across the country. Soon after management released it as a single, "Africa" cracked the national top 30, with the energized-blues flip side "Jane J James" becoming a programmer's favourite as well. Their infectious groove had critics hailing them as the next potential supergroup. "Page 125" was issued as the third single in the middle of a North ...

Robert Browning - My Last Duchess - Read by Julian Glover - From the 1984 series Six Centuries Of Verse My Last Duchess by Robert Browning (1812-1889) Ferrara That's my last Duchess painted on the wall, Looking as if she were alive. I call That piece a wonder, now: Frà Pandolf's hands Worked busily a day, and there she stands. Will't please you sit and look at her? I said "Frà Pandolf" by design, for never read Strangers like you that pictured countenance, The depth and passion of its earnest glance, But to myself they turned (since none puts by The curtain I have drawn for you, but I) And seemed as they would ask me, if they durst, How such a glance came there; so, not the first Are you to turn and ask thus. Sir, 'twas not Her husband's presence only, called that spot Of joy into the Duchess' cheek: perhaps Frà Pandolf chanced to say "Her mantle laps Over my lady's wrist too much," or "Paint Must never hope to reproduce the faint Half-flush that dies along her throat." Such stuff Was courtesy, she thought, and cause enough For calling up that spot of joy. She had A heart - how shall I say? - too soon made glad, Too easily impressed; she liked whate'er She looked on, and her looks went everywhere. Sir, 'twas all one! My favour at her breast, The dropping of the daylight in the West, The bough of cherries some officious fool Broke in the orchard for her, the white mule She rode with round the terrace - all and each Would draw from her alike the approving speech, Or blush ...

Schlaf, Kindlein, schlaf! Wie du schläfst, so bist du brav. Schlaf, Kindlein, schlaf! Wie du schläfst, so bist du brav. Immer süßer kocht die Sonne Deine Kirsche, dir zur Wonne; Schlaf denn, Kindlein, leicht bedeckt, Bis der Durst nach ihr dich weckt. Schlaf, Kindlein, schlaf! Wie du schläfst, so bist du brav. Sleep, little child, sleep! As you sleep, you are so good. Sleep, little child, sleep! As you sleep, you are so good. The speaker is nervous. He has murdered his wife, his 'last duchess', and is trying to negotiate a further marriage to gain a large dowry. He is trying to appear reasonable and caring but comes across as narcissistic and self-justifying. I think it is a mistake to make him too obviously arrogant. He's seeking favour so he's being smarmy and ingratiating but what he says gives away more that he intends. Fra Pandolf was the portrait painter but all persons, including Claus of Innsbruck, are fictitious. "Robert Browning reveals the horrifying story of the murder of the duke's previous wife through the duke's conversation with the agent. As the duke attempts to paint an inaccurate picture of himself to the agent, desiring to appear as a noble, but abused and caring, loving husband who had no choice but to murder his prideful, disrespectful wife, the duke's true controlling, manipulative, jealous nature is revealed." "Written in 1841, My Last Duchess is the dramatic monologue of the duke of Ferrara who is negotiating his second marriage through an agent of the count of Tyrol on the grand staircase of the ducal palace at Ferrara in northern Italy. Executing the elements of a dramatic monologue, the duke reveals his situation and much more than he intends to the both the agent and the reader. This is the kid version of Evanescence's beautiful song,My Immortal.Wow,it sound even better this way:) SUBSCRIBE AND COMMENT! ~LYRICS~ I'm so tired of being here, suppressed by all my childish fears And if you have to leave, I wish that you would just leave Your presence still lingers here and it won't leave me alone These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years But you still have all of me You used to captivate me by your resonating light Now, I'm bound by the life you left behind Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years But you still have all of me I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone But though you're still with me, I've been alone all along When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years But you still have all of me, me, me
