The Formula Rossa journey will begin in a temperature controlled pre-ride waiting area, where riders will be given protective eyewear, designed to protect passengers from the windforce generated by the coaster's high speed. Using a hydraulic winch system, similar to those used to launch jet planes, the F1 inspired coaster is then shot out of the launch area using 20800 horsepower and propelled to a height of 52m in less than 5 seconds. This Intamin rollercoaster will launch you from 0 to 100 km in 2 seconds and reaches speeds of up to 240 kph The track has a lenght of 2.07 kilometer and it's maximum hight is 52 meters. This rollercoaster will open to the public together with the official opening of the park at the 28th of October 2010.
Declan Ganley of Libertas appeared on Karen Coleman's Wide Angle Show on Sunday 28th September to discuss the Lisbon Treaty. He debated Lisbon with Labour MEP Proinsias De Rossa.
