Again, not the bumper, the WHEEL. The first hit bent it; the second hit broke it. See ya next week.

In a relatively uneventful race (one yellow, only), Fast Qualifier and perennial winner , car #24, is the only car to pass him and he collects a 5th place finish, again, 'on the board'. Many thanks to Scott and George for the car prep!
This is a video clip of RSWC driver Nik Romano during the 'hard work' of practice (making lap after lap without the excitement of racing circumstances) at All American Speedway in Roseville, Ca on 7.24.10 prior to Qualifying. Of interest to those who have seen other 'Nik at Roseville' videos is that this view is from the "Spotter's Deck" in the middle of the back straightaway, as opposed to the usual Grandstand view.

RSWC Rook'ie Modified driver Nik Romano picks up his first Main Event win in 'typical' Nik fashion - drive clean and smart, avoid other driver's stuff, and move up as they take themselves out of contention. On this night he is also aided by a penalty call on the last lap.
RSWC driver Nik Romano makes his first official run with his new Crew Chief, Scott Rodgers, in the NASCAR Modified race at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA He gets blocked in on the inside line, then moves to the outside and advances nicely before running out of time
In spite of an ill-handling car, a long green flag run, and being under constant attack, RSWC driver Nik Romano (red car, white #7) puts up a good fight until he finally has a mechanical failure within several laps of the checkered flag during this All American Speedway NASCAR Modified Main Event during his rookie campaign.

RSWC Driver Nik Romano starts 7th and finishes 4th in the NASCAR Modified Division at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA on 6.5.10. The story of the race is a tale in three parts: the opening several laps moving into 6th, the middle portion moving into 5th but losing contact with the lead group, and the finale where several 'on the fly' adjustments keep him in contact with the leaders as the Checkered Flag flies. This is part 1.

RSWC Driver Nik Romano has more mechanical misfortune after winning both his Heat Race and the Trophy Dash. He Qualified 12th of 18 cars after replacing a transmission. Part 2 of the All American Speedway NASCAR Modified Main Event on 5.8.10 featuring RSWC Rookie driver Nik Romano. Check out the 'cross over' move at 6:27. ( the transitions are killing me!)
RSWC Rookie Driver Nik Romano starts at the back of a 23 car field at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA in the NASCAR Modified Division. He works his way to 6th, trying for a Top 5 finish, when he runs out of fuel on the LAST lap. This is Part 1. (I'm still trying to figure out those transitions)
RSWC Rookie Driver Nik Romano did not Qualify this day due to mechanical problems. He was supposed to start at the rear for all events. The Officials lined him up on the Pole, and didn't recognize their mistake till the fourth restart after 3 of 8 laps were completed (~2:47). Then he was put to the back of 12 cars and finished 5th. (please excuse the transitions and titles, I'm new at this).
RSWC driver Nik Romano, a Rookie in the Modified class, Qualified 8th this night. Due to an 8 car invert he started on the Pole, got a good start and built a respectable lead. He lead for 18 of the 40 laps. Ultimately, a yellow flag brought the field back to him. He was passed by three cars and finished fourth. The cars that passed him were the two previous Main Event winners from this year (each multiple Championship winners, and the Championship car from last year)..
RSWC driver, and Modified class Rookie, Nik Romano Qualified fifth, and with a 5 car invert started on the Pole. He pretty quickly gets 'freight trained' by the quicker cars behind him. He finally gets 'in line' into 5th place. He holds on to fifth until the latter part of the race, finishing 7th.
RSWC driver Nik Romano starts 4th in the first heat race of the Modified class. The outside line doesn't move and he has to drop back before moving forward. He finishes 2nd and qualifies for his first Trophy Dash. Of note, he holds off #24 to finish 2nd. Listen to what the track announcer has to say about #24 at the 2:20 mark. That's the level of competition here.
The completion of the Main Event run 4.10.10 at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA.. Of note, the Orange #21 is Nik's RSWC teammate, Josh Brock (from Kentucky). This orange car is the one Nik drove twice last year to 'test'.

Starting 3rd, he manages to get by tough competitor Michael Lewis on the outside before his car stopped turning. He finished fourth this night.
