After several weeks of trying to troubleshoot, wipe, repair, recover and work with this Seagate 1.5 Terabyte Hard Drive I decided it was about time to say good bye to their useless 32 bit software, garbage disfunctional firmware updates, dead image link ridden website and pay them the best tribute I can by "Putting the Axe to it," so to say. The website "denied warranty" on this drive because it was "OEM." Bullshit. Good riddance Seagate, you lost a customer.

This problem could be related to the new seagate momentus xt hard drive.. The original problem was from a WD 640 gb hard drive was doing the same thing... The problem is right from the beginning, once the hangs stop, thats pretty much it.. Update! *** This problem is still happening with hitachi original hard drive.. Time to take it back in again for warranty.. Last time they said it was the hard drive..

Please Read Before Performing This Fix! Taking apart your XBOX 360 HDD will viod any warranty that it may have come with when it was purchased! Do this fix at your own risk! Parts inside HDD are fragile and may break if not handled correctly! I am not responsible for your actions. This is a Brand new 20 Gig HDD that I purchased online at Ebay. When first using it, it gave me the E 68 Error, which is mainly caused by a Corrupt HDD. For a walkthrough on how to take apart your Xbox 360 HDD, look on Youtube or Google on how to do so. All that I did to come accross this fix, was when it is apart, I blew into the connection to where the HDD and the cables meet. Once putting it back together, the HDD worked fine after that. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: I'm not sure why, but after doing this fix, it can only be used on the Xbox 360 that it was connected to first! When moving to a different Xbox 360, I found myself with the E 68 Error once again, and had to repeat the steps. Once done, it worked again on the Xbox 360 that I first started with. I don't know if it has something to do with the type of HDD or not, but please keep this in mind when doing this fix!
Here's a ST3320620A / 320GB 7200.10 PATA Seagate making some pretty scary noises. The troubles increase while the HDTune scan is running and a few blocks before the end, loud clicks are heard and the scan almosts comes to a full stop. The higher tone clicks cannot be heard unfortunately but I can assure you there where plenty of those while recording. Anyway, this one is going back for warranty. This one was bought in October 2006 and it still has 10 months of warranty left. There's no data on this disk so I can return it without copying data first. Overall, I have good experience with Seagate disks and I'm confident this disk will be replaced with one that doesn't have issues. Disks are enclosed in a opened up Digitus DA-70530 disk enclosure, connected using USB. Room for 4 3.5" PATA disks, cooled by a 80mm fan. Disks are installed using screws and a sliding mechanism and then displayed as USB disk devices. It can't do mirroring or striping RAID, but any combination of disks can be turned into JBOD.

Its a Seagate ST-157A... i got 2 of them and that one had already a broken warranty seal, so i decidet to open it and run it. Sorry for the low framerate... but see, how shiny the platters are. i need to connect the drive with a data cable when i want the heads moving. this also works with my usb-cable (which i use in my video), but the computer doesn´t find the drive, its too old for USB (but the drive isn´t damaged, it works well)
