Nissan has announced the immediate availability of the new Fairlady Z ((370 Z in most other markets)) 40th Anniversary Edition to the Japanese market. It may also be unveiled during the approaching Tokyo Motor Show. Prices are ¥4483500 (€33043/ US$49300) for the 6-speed manual and ¥4588500 (€33817/ US$50455) for the 7-speed automatic. The Fairlady badge goes all the way back to October 1969 when the original Fairlady Z (aka Datsun 240 Z) was born. Forty years later the name has become an icon representing excellence in reasonably-priced sports car manufacturing. The limited-edition Coupe begins its life as a normal Fairlady Z with things such as a front chin spoiler, a rear spoiler and Nissan Sport brakes. Added features include items like a special 40th Anniversary leather/suede-like fabric combination for the seats with memorial engraving on the seat backs, a leather-covered steering with red stitches, kneepads in the driver and passenger seats, dark chrome forged aluminium wheels and special sport brake callipers. A unique metal grey paint was created for the model. Power comes from the same naturally aspirated 3.7-litre V6 producing 244kw (332hp) and 366Nm (270 lb-ft) of torque.

Welcome to the third installment. It's taken a bit of preparation time, which is essential rather than diving in to find something we've done is not quite right - both Nathan and I have been guilty in the past of making stuff only to discover a better way of doing it. But parts availability has been the biggest issue; delivery time has been long delayed for many reasons too complicated to discuss here. In this video we re-assess engine bay mounting; most of the battery racks are welded up now and the battery management has arrived (except the master unit, d'oh!). We discuss battery management, the most efficient use of space in the engine bay, as well as the AC motor we received that will drive the air-con/power steering. (btw, the AC motor and BMS come from www.bev.com.au where they are custom-made). Also an older previously unused segment stripped in about removing weight, as this is crucial in gaining mileage. Oh, and a mention of power cabling which we will try to get through some of the sub-frame rather than running under the vehicle or lumping under the carpet (as the power cable sits inside a plastic flex conduit roughly an inch diameter), so long as it's legal which we'll check with someone who knows (guessing it's something like 600mm distance between u-clamp affixing). openskies is a subsidiary airline of British Airways which began operations on 19 June 2008 using a single Boeing 757 transferred from the BA fleet. The airline will initially fly between Paris-Orly Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport in the United States. The airline will be a full-service carrier and will offer business class, premium economy and economy cabins. British Airways have also confirmed that they are looking at operating services from other European cities, including Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid, Brussels, Rome and Milan. The routes that openskies intends to fly are only possible because of the recent open skies agreements between the European Union and the United States governments which permit any American or European airline to operate services to and from any European or American location. The availability of landing slots limits the impact of the agreement at certain airports, such as London Heathrow Airport. "Project Lauren" was the code-name for openskies when it was first planned by British Airways. British Airways' wanted to reduce the over-dependence on their Heathrow Airport hub by flying between the United States and cities in continental Europe. The bypass was only able to be done after an open skies treaty between the United States the European Union would allow any airline to fly between airports in the two continents starting in March 2008.
