I started shark identification project at Shark Reef, Long island, Bahamas. At least eleven Caribbean Reef Sharks were observed last week. Some sharks have scars on their body which are identifying individual sharks. Curly is our oldest friend, whose right pectoral fin is curled. It reaches four feet, one of the biggest shark and the most friendly shark, also maybe female. I took video of several other sharks, with bait mark at back part of face, scratch on dorsal fin, spear-like mark at right cheek, and jagged dorsal fin. I am looking for nice nicknames for our friends.
Shark Reef is a dive site in 30ft shallow water. Here is a nice introduction of Bahamian reef. Colorful reef fish are happily swimming under blight sun shine. Schooling Barracuda and Horse-eye Jacks are in blue water. But, Caribbean reef sharks are king on this reef. Be quite, they come close to you. Look, a shark swiming above you, You got a best shot of a shark and blue water surface!!

On August 6, 2009 I fought and landed "three" Thresher Sharks "myself" while shark fishing on this day!,,,,,,This is the most caught and landed by one person in one day in the history of the Pacifica pier. At the beginning of this video we had a double hook up ((two thresher sharks at once)),,,,But unfortunately my friend ended up losing his because he helped gaff mine, This video is of the "second" one that I landed that day out of the "three" that I ended up catching and landing on August 6 ,2009. NEW YORK (CNN) - A 26-foot-long dying shark washed ashore Tuesday on a Long Island beach, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation said. The male basking shark, which weighed an estimated 5000 pounds and was measured at 26 feet, 6 inches, died shortly after authorities arrived on the scene, according to marine educator Tracy Marcus of the Cornell Cooperative Extension. Marcus, who was at the beach at the time, said there were no outer abrasions on the shark, ruling out of the possibility of a boat strike, and the cause of the shark's death was unknown to investigators.
