Space Shuttle Discovery (STS-119) Launch on March 15, 2009 at 7:43 PM (ET) from Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
Video Courtesy NASA www.nasa.gov STS-120 was a space shuttle mission to the International Space Station (ISS), that launched on October 23, 2007 from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The mission is also referred to as ISS-10A by the ISS program. STS-120 delivered the Harmony module and reconfigured a portion of the station in preparation for future assembly missions. STS-120 was flown by Space Shuttle Discovery, and was the twenty-third space shuttle mission to the ISS. The completion of the mission left eleven flights remaining in the Space Shuttle program until its end in 2010, excluding two as-yet-unconfirmed Contingency Logistic Flights. http Using NASA Imagery and Linking to NASA Web Sites12.05.08 Still Images, Audio Recordings, Video, and Related Computer Files NASA still images; audio files; video; and computer files used in the rendition of 3-dimensional models, such as texture maps and polygon data in any format, generally are not copyrighted. Video Courtesy NASA www.nasa.gov STS-117 was a Space Shuttle mission flown by Space Shuttle Atlantis, launched from pad 39A of the Kennedy Space Center on June 8, 2007. Damage from a hail storm on February 26, 2007 had previously caused the launch to be postponed from an originally-planned launch date of March 15, 2007. The mission, also referred to as ISS-13A by the ISS program, delivered to the International Space Station (ISS) the second starboard truss segment (the S3 Truss) and its associated energy systems, including a set of solar arrays. During the course of the mission the crew installed the new truss segment, retracted one set of solar arrays, and unfolded the new set on the starboard side of the station. STS-117 also brought Expedition 15 crewmember Clayton Anderson to the station, and returned with ISS crewmember Sunita Williams. This mission was the 118th Space Shuttle flight, the 28th flight for Atlantis and the 21st US flight to the ISS.[2] The launch of STS-117 marks the 250th orbital human spaceflight.[3] The completion of the mission leaves thirteen flights remaining in the Space Shuttle program until its end in 2010, excluding two as-yet-unconfirmed Contingency Logistic Flights. On June 11, NASA mission managers announced a two-day extension of the mission, adding a fourth extra-vehicular activity (EVA). These two days were inserted into the mission timeline after flight day 8. This possibility had been discussed prior to launch. Because of launch day ...

Listen to my awesome commentary. This was filmed at Space View Park in Titusville, Florida.
This is a CRW jump over skydive Sebastian, Florida while watching the NASA Space Shuttle Launch March 15, 2009. Beautiful weather and an on schedule launch allowed us to capture incredible stills, beautiful video and an incredible view.
Night launch seen from tha aft deck of the Disney Wonder cruise ship.
The launch of the Discovery Shuttle from the closest point allowed for the open public. It was an amazing site to witness.
Space Shuttle Launch viewed from I-95 South on March 15th, 2009 at 7:43pm. Audio is archived MCO feed from www.liveatc.net and is from the actual launch time.
The shuttle launch got canceled a few times, so instead of going to the beach and hoping it was still launching, we watched it right from outside my house. Enjoy!
Taken from Carnival Sensation cruise ship
I had a chance to watch the Space Shuttle Discovery launch from the top of the Contemporary Hotel at Walt Disney World on Sunday night. Even though I was about 60 miles away, it was awesome.
This is the Space Shuttle launch from my backyard in Palm Beach, almost 200 miles away!
This is me filming the last night time (more like twilight) shuttle launch of this shuttle before it is retired. We are on Cocoa Beach right near Ron Johns. There were thousands of people on the beach. The first time you hear the crowd cheer its for the shuttle launching, the second time is when your that close to the launch pad, about 30 seconds after it launches your hear the loud rumble of the jets. It takes a while for the sound to reach you. Unfortuanetly it's blocked out by the wind. Or should I say made louder by the wind. I've lived in Orlando my entire life and this is the closest I've ever been while seeing the shuttle launch. I'm a goon! Side Note: My camera work is so shitty because I wanted to view the launch in person...not on a tiny 2.5 inch LCD display screen. So I'm basically just pointing the camera in that direction.
Space Shuttle Discovery STS-119 launch March 15, 2009 from VIP site 3 miles away at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Was filmed in 1080 HD but was not uploaded to youtube in HD. I was lucky enough to get these VIP passes from NASA. I went down with two of my friends to watch. This was the video I filmed and YOU CAN NOT GET ANY CLOSER than this to a space shuttle launch. Just amazing to be that close. The video is great but there is no video or watching on tv that comes close to what the shuttle looks & feels like launching live right in front of you. STS-119 Discovery launched just a few minutes after sunset and even made our launch that much more beautiful! Check out my space shuttle website at....... www.myspace.com
