Navneet is the third wedding that I have covered for the Gogia family. They have four lovely daughters, and I have had the honored to cover these special memories for three of the daughters. I truly feel like I am part of the Gogia family. When they came in to discuss Navneet's wedding for May 15, 2010, I was excited to tell them all about the "Cinematic Highlights" shot with new Canon 5D Mark II camera. Surprisingly, Navneet had already seen some of them on Facebook already, and was equally excited to have her wedding covered with this new camera as well. Since this family had such a special place in my heart, this was my first wedding that I covered the Mehndi, Sangeet and Same Day Edit (bride pre-ceremony & ceremony) completely with the Canon 5D camera, and the footage came out spectacular, this camera never fails me! Because of time constraints, we did a short edit of the Mehndi that took place on Thursday, May 13th, and a Same Day Highlight that consist of the bride preparations, baraat, milni & Sikh ceremony. It took us about 5 hours to edit all of the footage and have it ready for to be played that evening for the reception. We played it on two large 9'x12' fastfold screens, and the guest loved it! These string instruments taught here are Rebab, Taus,Tanpura, & Dilruba. Currently there over 94 students, whose ages range from 5 years to 60 years. Over the last four days, a total of 44 students were assessed, and all 44 completed both the theory and practical assessments . The assessment of the students was done by Bhai Sukhwant Singh , who is the Principal, of Gurshabad Sanget Academy, Jawaddi Taksaal, Ludhiana. He was assisted by Bhai Jagjit Singh, from our Silat Road Kirtan Jatha and also by Surjit Singh Wasan, Chairman Sikh Advisory Board.

Recorded an early morning many decades ago at Darbar Sahib the Golden Temple Bhai Lal Amritsari was a singer of the Kapurthala Gharana trained in the Gwalior style of singing. Bhai Lal hailed from a Amritsar based rababi family of musicians and received his initial training from his father Bhai Ata Muhammad, a disciple of Mian Bannay Khan of the Gwalior gharana. After his fathers death, Bhai Lal then learnt from Mian Mahboob Ali, a renowned sitar player of the Kapurthala Gharana. Bhai Lal was a disciple of Pandit Bhaskarbuwa Bakhale. Bhaskarbuwa had learnt from Ustad Faiz Mohammad Khan (Gwalior), Ustad Bande Ali Khan (Kirana), Ustad Natthan Khan (Agra), and Ustad Alladiya Khan of Kohlapur (Jaipur). At the Shikarpur Music conference in 1927, Bhai Lal received the title of Sangeet Sagar. In 1936, Bhai Lals elder son, Nissar Hassan died at the age of 26 due to tuberculosis. Bhai Lal then decided to train his younger son, Ghulam Hassan Shaggan to continue the family tradition.

Ustad ji plays the rebab extremely well, we will try to upload videos of him singing with rebab soon. Ustad Ji is currently doing sewa by teaching the fine art of Gurmat Sangeet at the Sikh Centre in Singapore.
