Last week Today Tonight had a piece on a product called "Power Balance Bracelets" www.youtube.com which they claim even the scientists and sceptics can't explain. World famous sceptic, Richard "The One" Saunders from Australian Skeptics didn't quite agree with this claim so came onboard for a follow up report. He explains how it works, gives a demonstration and runs 5 tests, all of which failed miserably. Unfortunately only 2 made it to the final cut. Take note of the chiropractor at the beginning claiming he would stake his credibility on the product.

www.godvsthebible.com So is the whole account just a metaphor? Is it compatible with evolution? 1. Order of events is wrong. 2. The Hebrews really thought a day was a day. 3. Details on rivers, nations and genealogy (unnecessary if it's all just metaphoric). 4. Jesus thought the stars really were lights in the sky-dome. 5. Jesus traced his ancestry to Adam. 6. If Adam was a real character, no death could have happened before him and so no evolution.
www.godvsthebible.com Part II of the Biblical Creation Series The Christian Excuses. The "Sixth Day Elaboration Apology": Chapter 2 just goes into detail on day six. The "Pre-Adamite Apology": Yahweh pulls another creation in the next county. So that's where Mrs. Cain came from. Why both of them fall flat.
www.godvsthebible.com A video for those who consider the Bible to contain a literal account of how Creation occured some 6-10 thousand years ago. Chapter 1 and 2 contradict each other and neither makes any sense in context to our modern understanding of how the universe works. Even the things that a child today should know, that the sky isn't a dome or that the earth revolves around the sun, were apparently unknown to the authors of the Bible. [Sung] JC's bullcrap, this I know For the Bible tells me so John's Epistles say as much Used his faith then as a crutch. Yes, he aint real Yes, he aint real Yes, he aint real The Bible tells me so. 1John 4:1-3 2John 1:7 www.godvsthebible.com
www.godvsthebible.com Theology is the study of that which can't be studied (with the current technology we have anyway). It's time we stopped wasting all the time and money we spend on this pseudo-academic field.
www.godvsthebible.com I arrive at my doubts about the Jesus story differently than Acharya and others. This is not to say that they're wrong but I don't know enough about pagan myths to say for certain one way or the other. My skepticism is based on how inconsistent the Christian story is, both internally and with history. The Christians have never built a case that Jesus exists in the first place. Had a few questions for those who insist that Christianity was purely an outgrowth of Judaism and that the pagans had no influence. Where did the Christians get some of their ideas? www.godvsthebible.com Questions Where did they get their idea about Hell? Where did they get their idea about the Holy Spirit? Where did they get their idea of the need for an intercessor with the divine? Where does the communion come from since it contradicts Jewish practice? Where does the idea of the ultimate sacrifice come from which fulfills the need for animal sacrifice? Where do pagan Christmas/Easter rituals come from?
(Reloaded Video) www.godvsthebible.com The Bible is a deeply sexist book that makes it clear that women should submit themselves completely to men and have no authority. Dedicated to Sarah Palin, the fundamentalist woman who might have been a heartbeat away from being the most powerful person in the world. She really puts the "fun" in "duh" and "mental".
www.godvsthebible.com Moderate Christians need to make up their minds. Is the Bible the Word of God or not? Ask them this question and watch them run up and down the field. They exist in a philosophical no-mans land, searching for a happy medium that simply doesn't exist.
More audio issues. Also, the loudest most shrillest scream at the end.
Yay for proper lighting! Here are the questions from today's Video: Q1) Did you ever REALLY believe in Santa? Q2) Would you celebrate Christmas with your kids? (For Atheists / Non-believers) Please leave a text or video response with your answers and maybe some questions of your own for me! All my videos (at least for some time) are going to be about growing up without religion and what it means to be a child in a non-religions household. Please feel free to ask me ANY QUESTIONS you have. The main purpose of this account is education and I am open to almost any personal or philosophical questions you may have. I will respond either in comments or in a video, if you're question is just that super awesome! I'll be making many more videos, so if you're interested in hearing more of what I have to say, please subscribe!

HEALTHY SKEPTIC Try to work hard. Try to play nice. Get a second view when you're given advice. Be open-minded, but not to the point that your brain falls out. Have a little courage. Have a lot of pride. Have at least one opinion you must hide. Make sure you comprehend space and your place in the scheme of things. Give a little time until it seems enough. Make a few friends and a lot more love. Strive to see all sides before you decide to take a stand. Sometimes you're slow then come on strong. Sometimes you stop in the middle of the song, and then continue when your brain's in the frame that it needs to be. The news report may give one side but don't always accept it. It isn't wrong to not belong and be a healthy skeptic. Have a strong body but a stronger mind. Have a cup of tea if you're so inclined. Critics, who never play, laugh them off and turn away. Dont follow the herd, meek as a mouse; you might be in line to the slaughterhouse. Some wishes that you make turn out to be a big mistake. Take a few risks. Dont bet a lot. There's no sure thing but the things you've got. Take steps; test the ground; if it's weak you turn around. Have a good life. Have a good time. Have a good lawyer when you sign, and, above all else, learn to laugh some at yourself. The enemy: you'll only see them when you least expect it. It isn't wrong to not belong and be a healthy skeptic. The news report may give one side but don't always accept it. It isn't wrong to not belong and be a healthy ...

The Netherlands and the UK have set the tone for the European elections, hinting at major victories for parties that oppose the governments in power. Geert Wilders' Freedom Party secured four out of the 25 Dutch seats in the European Parliament, while the UK Independence Party looks like it could become the second-largest party in the UK, when results here are posted on Sunday evening. The Czech Republic and Ireland will vote on Friday.

www.godvsthebible.com Read the Bible and hear about Yahweh's limitations. He has only the strength of a unicorn, he can't defeat a people with chariots of iron, he "tries" and fails to kill Moses, he fails to wrestle with Jacob and doesn't become omnipotent until the NT. Also hear his touching story about the nerd little Yahweh at god school as he's beaten up by kids with cooler names (Zeus, Odin, Ra, etc.) and they take his ambrosia money. Boy, those bullies were really sorry when Yahweh made it big.
www.godvsthebible.com Conservative Christians often like to claim "life begins at conception." Where do they find this? The Bible makes it clear that the unborn is not a living being with any right to life and children have no rights after birth. They can be killed by their parents for trivial reasons by modern standards (Jesus himself says so). In reality, the brain doesn't undergo significant development until week 20, well after the 1st trimester when 90% of abortions occur. Abortion is murder the same way taking antibiotics is genocide.
The Skeptic (2009) HQ trailer
www.godvsthebible.com Trying to reconcile the two very different fates of Judas. I play the role of apologist at the end. Remember, there are no contradictions in the Bible. Lalalalalalalala I'm not listening.
www.godvsthebible.com In other news about the Bible's moral bankruptcy, the Bible gives the nod to the practice of slavery. The OT Bible regulates the practice of slavery. The NT admonishes slaves to obey their masters. Jesus often uses slaves in his parables and even endorses the practice of beating them. Here is a book said to be "The Word of God" and yet it fails to offer sound moral guidance on what is perhaps the biggest "no brainer" of moral issues.
www.godvsthebible.com Jesus claimed to be God? Not according to the synoptic Gospels. Jesus refers to himself as a separate being from Yahweh, independent of and subordinate to. Yahweh, in turn, addresses Jesus as a separate being and introduces him in the third person.
www.godvsthebible.com Search the Bible in vain for the words "inalienable rights". The Bible endorses the divine right of kings and admonishes obedience from peasants and slaves. America's founders were inspired more by the god of deism.
