Blair Satterfield (Houston) and Marc Swackhamer (Minneapolis) began their collaboration as architects in Houston, Texas, in 1998. HouMinn (pronounced human) Practice, their present-day moniker, is both an acronym of their current geographical locations and a homophone to describe their research-based practice, which seeks collaboration with experts outside architecture in order to create work that is more rigorous and resonates with a wide audience. Their innovative wall-based systems, such as OSWall, an open source platform; Cloak Wall; and Drape Wall are evolving explorations of this primary architectural element, while projects such as Pore House, Draft House, and Feedback House have tackled issues of sustainability and affordability. These research projects have been featured in numerous publications, including Dwell and Fast Company, and have garnered prestigious honors such the 2008 R&D Award from Architect magazine and the Best in Environments award from ID Magazine.

The most memorable moment of the 52nd annual Grammy Awards on Sunday may be the onstage appearance of Michael Jackson's two eldest children to accept their father's lifetime achievement award. "To all his songs, his message was simple, love," 12-year-old Prince Michael said. "We will continue to spread his message and help the world." With a voice that sounded more mature than his age, he then thanked "God for watching over us these last seven months and our grandma and grandpa for their love and support." Paris, 11, then spoke: "Daddy was supposed to be here. Daddy was going to perform last year. Thank you. We love you Daddy." Prince Michael and Paris, along with several cousins, wore black suits with red stripes on their pants, and red armbands. The children appeared after a rousing performance of Michael Jackson's "Earth Song," with a recording of Jackson accompanied by live performances from Celine Dion, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Smokey Robinson and Jennifer Hudson.

Gregtendon here with an old talent video. this was something done at the end of my 8th grade year to show off a bit (and hopefully score). The guy playing sax (and from what people told me, ruined my act) is my buddy Nate. we've both been playing officially since age 9. I Hope you enjoy. `~ Disclaimer ~` The song that the saxaphonist plays in the beginning is My girl. this song is © 1964 to Smokey Robinson and The Temptations. i do not own that song or claim it. every thing else was just improvisation. * Yes, He is playing My Girl.* - Recorded On June 2, 2009

Top notch tune recorded by Tan Tan for the Instant/Immediate label. From Reggaepedia: "Eddie Thornton (widely known as Tan Tan) was born in the late 40's in Spanish Town, Jamaica. At a young age he attended the Alpha Boys Catholic School. He graduated from the school as a trumpet player and began playing his first sessions with Eric Dean's All Star Band featuring Ruben Alexander, Roy Shirland (Shirley?) and Ernest Ranglin. They toured the island's night club spots playing cover versions of the then popular rhythm and blues which resulted in an engagement at the Colony Club, one of Jamaica's top night club. Tan Tan also began playing at the Bournemouth Club with The Roy Coburn Band that featured artists such as Tommy mccook, Roland Alphonso, Ossie Scott and Ray Coburn. In the early 1965 Tan Tan went to England began playing Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames. He was playing on hits such as »Getaway«, »Yeah Yeah« and »Sitting In The Park«. By the end of the year he was back on the road as a member of a backing band touring extensively throughout England, Europe and the United States, alongside artists such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Sandi Shaw, The Small Faces and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. He also became a part of the Tamla Motown Package Tour of England which featured heavyweight artists such as Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. "
Stone was born at Buckland Hospital in Dover, Kent, and spent her teenage years in Ashill, a small village in Devon. She is the third of four children born to Richard and Wendy Stoker. Her father owns a fruit and nut import/export business; her mother, who used to manage holiday cottages, worked as Stone's manager until October 2004. Stone made her first public appearance at the Uffculme Comprehensive School—which she attended—in Uffculme, Devon, with a cover of Jackie Wilson's 1957 song "Reet Petite". Because of her dyslexia, Stone left school at age sixteen with only three GCSE qualifications. "It wasn't that I was stupid. I'm just a little bit dyslexic and I wasn't very academic. I'm more artistic", she says. Stone grew up listening to a wide variety of music including 1960s and 1970s American R&B and soul music performed by such artists as Dusty Springfield and Aretha Franklin; as a result, she developed a soulful style of singing like her idols. "My first CD that I owned was Aretha Franklin: Greatest Hits. And I saw the advert on TV and it was just like little clips of her songs. I had no idea who she was—I was only like 10 so. I said, 'Oh yeah, that looks really good', so I wrote it down and I said to my mum, 'Can I have that for Christmas?' So she told my friend Dennis, who always gets me good music anyway, and he got that for me. So that was one of my first albums that I loved."She would later tell MTV News: "I kind of clicked into soul music more than anything ...

Michael Jackson's memorial service took place today from the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. It was also the site for rehearsals, leading up to his death, for his 'This Is It' London tour, which would of taken place in the coming weeks. Today's memorial was a teary eyed occasions for family, friends and fans. I was able to view and enjoy what turned out to be a worldwide opportunity for mourning and celebration. With words from Lionel Ritchie, Queen Latifah, Al Sharpton, Barry Gordie and Smokey Robinson, it was indeed moving. Brooke Shields was also in attendance with a heart felt and very emotional farewell to her good friend of many, many years. With performances by Mariah Carey, Usher, John Mayer and Stevie Wonder it brought everyone to tears and then to applause. Here are some photos that we will remember, and never forget. I accompanied the pictures with Michael Jackson's ballad, Gone Too Soon, which was originally written for Ryan White. Ryan White was a hemophiliac from a very young age that was diagnosed with AIDS in the mid 80's. He became friends with Michael Jackson and gained worldwide attention until his death in 1990. With this video we also remember Ryan White who brought to light the issues and questions that so many were afraid to ask back then. He was a brave and strong individual that we could all learn something from. Here are pictures from the memorial service, held today, July 7 2009. Goodbye Michael Jackson, We'll always love you.

Wake up you dumb twits, you will be there next, would you like to know what will happen to you in your grave.
