This glade sits to skiers-right of the lift at Carinthia. It's not very steep, but well maintained and a pleasure to ski.
Shawnee Peak got dumped with more than 14" of snow over three days this past week. The riding was amazing. This footage was from Wed, Jan 20. We had some great groomers with fresh pow on top, sweet bumps, sick glades, and deep un-groomed terrain all day. Check out www.shawneepeak.com for current conditions and upcoming events. Ski Hard!

To be honest, there wasn't enough new snow from the New Year's storm to go venturing off into the woods. There was a great base however, so I hoped for the best and set out to ski some of the glades that the Berkshire East Ski Patrol spent so much time on this fall. If this video helps you find some of the great skiing in the trees at The beast, you have the folks in red coats to thank for it... Don't ski alone in the woods!!
The biggest storm of the month blanketed Whistler Blackcomb with about 2 feet of snow in the Alpine today. It wasn't exactly dry powder, with the temperature barely below freezing but fresh tracks on every run was the order of the day. Boarding the Blackcomb Excallaber Gondola at the 8:30 opening, the snowfall intensified through the morning. After drying off and inhaling a chicken tahoe at Rendevous Lodge, it was back out for more until the lifts shut down. Glade skiing was the best call, with the abundance of new snow, great visibility and zero competition for any line of choice. With the highest chairs Glacier and 7th heaven closed due to high winds, it was an easy choice to stay in the trees off Solar Coaster and Crystal chairs. In The Spirit is the longest glade run on the mountain, but is seldom open as conditions within get a little dicey with the streams, fallen branches and other obstacles...but today, everything was covered and turns were made in solitude.
Jay waiting on Matt. Matt does a lil jump was nice jump but doesnt land it. Let keep rolling....Matts complaining about being sore...The snow and trees are kicking hiss ass....32seconds into the video Matt's are hits a tree, you can hear a crackle of the trees and snow sounds like some super cool sound efects of him breaking his arm. He does not break anything.better of the few recording, lasting a ner 5 or so mins with out a dump or fall slowing down you get it...Rate it. Thanks for watching.

Driving the Land Cruiser up by Glade Park, CO after a recent snow storm. We had the tires aired down to 8 PSI and were getting excellent traction. There was about 24" of fresh snow, very light and easy to drive thru.
