METRO RESPONSE BULLETIN www.truth-ministries.com 5.4 earthquake rattles southern California LOS ANGELES — A magnitude 5.4 earthquake rattled Los Angeles, San Diego and parts of southern California on Wednesday, the United States Geological Survey said. The epicenter of the quake, which struck at 2353 GMT, was located 13 miles (22 kilometers) northwest of Borrego Springs, 58 miles (94 kilometers) northeast of San Diego, and at a depth of 11.7 kilometers (7.3 miles) USGS said on its web site. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. The quake struck just as people headed home from their jobs and it was felt for about 30 seconds in San Diego, Los Angeles and other parts of southern California. It was felt most in high rises. Authorities in Los Angeles, which was 158 miles (245 kilometers) away from the quake's epicenter, said the city's international airport was operating normally. The USGS lists earthquakes as "strong" from 6.0 magnitude upwards. Wednesday's quake was followed by a series of 3.0 magnitude aftershocks in the Borrego Springs area.

14 juin 2010 SAN DIEGO -- The Toronto Blue Jays stood on the field. Nobody moved. They heard about these things, but most had never experienced anything like it. Yes, it was an earthquake. The San Diego Padres-Blue Jays game stopped for about 45 seconds in the eighth inning when an earthquake rocked Petco Park. The crowd of 16542 cheered when they realized what it was. It was measured at 5. 9 on the richter scale. "We kind of looked at each other and didn't know what it was,'' said Blue Jays bullpen coach Rick Langford. "I wasn' t scared, but you felt it.'' Blue Jays reliever Scott Downs, who had just retired David Eckstein, stood on the mound as the stadium began shaking. Chase Headley, the next batter, stayed out of the batter's box for a few seconds. The public address announced asked that everyone remain calm. The players on the field said they didn't feel the earthquake, with Blue Jays second baseman Aaron Hill saying, "but I did notice the screen shake.'' Jays manager Cito Gaston said he definitely felt the tremor on the bench, bringing back memories, he said, when he was in San Francisco during the 1989 World Series. The Blue Jays wound up winning 6-3, a victory they jokingly said, that moved the earth.

This morning I was doing my floor exercises when there was a big BOOM. A 3.5 earthquake just hit Santa Monica. I'd been through the Northridge Earthquake in 1994 when I had lived here in Santa Monica years ago. After 15 years living in the San Francisco Bay Area I just moved back to the house I lived in when Santa Monica had its last earthquake. So it was interesting to experience another shake. this one was much milder thank God. My kitty didn't think so. She is still a bit shaken.

The quake struck near the Mexican city of Mexicali, located some 20 miles south of the border in the Mexican State of Baja California at 3:40 pm, according to the US Geological Survey. The quake was initially reported to be a 6.9-magnitude earthquake but was changed to 7.2-magnitude. The Survey said that the area was hit by minor 3.0 magnitude earthquakes throughout the past week. San Diego media report that the quake left buildings with shattered windows, broken pipes, cracked floors and other damages. For some residents, power was knocked out due to damages. The San Diego News Network reports that the quake shook the city for nearly one minute. So I passed my private pilot checkride yesterday! Took my dad up as my first passenger this afternoon, Easter Sunday, April 4th. Of course we forgot the video camera in the car... we were to excited to go flying, so this video is made from the LiveATC.net feed archive from SNA. We were just on our way back to John Wayne from Fullerton Airport, Fullerton tower handed us off to So Cal approach, and we were making our way along when the controller came on and said something like... "we ah... well, we just had a really significant earthquake right now, contact john Wayne tower and make sure they're operating." Turns out they felt it pretty good down there, Socal Tracon is in San Diego, closer to where the epicenter was. At that point I was looking out the window waiting to see gas mains bursting into flames along with the second coming of Christ... it being Easter and all... but things looked pretty normal from 2500 feet so I gave SNA tower a call. This video picks up shortly before I checked in, earthquake in progress. it must have been an interesting ride up in the tower. I chime in about three quarters of the way through - diamond 202LS. All in all, pretty memorable first flight as a private pilot.

Security camera footage from my store during the 5.4 magnitude earthquake on 29 July 2008. Out of our four cameras set to record when it detects motion, the only camera that saw enough movement was the one pointed at the tactical gear section, and even then, it only recorded about 7 seconds or so. Today...7/29/08, in Southern California, at 11:38am..WE had an earthquake that was 5.8.....very devestating..I nearly lost my Beatles book...here, watch.....8|oh yes....and my poor kitties got so scared they wouldnt get out from under the bed for a few hours..8( So how is everyone else??
