From Saturday, June 10, 1989. Sparky Anderson had recently returned to the Tigers after taking a leave of absence due to exhaustion. The Tigers were in the midst of their worst season during Sparky's tenure and were falling apart. Marv Albert handles the interview. Sparky says some interesting things about developing new, young players - which the Tigers were not doing. It invariably sent them into a funk for nearly 15 years.

AmericaJR.com's Jason Rzucidlo spoke one-on-one with Bob Sadler, director of public and external relations, at the Detroit Historical Museum. A new exhibit has opened at the Detroit Historical Museum that features five of The Motor City's beloved sports coaches. George "Sparky" Anderson, Scotty Bowman, Chuck Daly, Will Robinson and Dick Vitale are included in the exhibit. It includes jerseys, autographed memorabilia, books about the coaches and a video clip. Two other exhibits have also opened in the museum's Detroit Artists Showcase and New to the Collection areas.

On September 28th, the Detroit Tigers held a celebration honoring the 1984 World Championship team. Although the weather was awful, forcing the game to be postponed, it was great to see some of these local heroes, and personally some of the men I remember from my early days learning and falling in love with the game. Wish video was better, but all I got! Jack Morris, Lou Whitaker, and Alan Trammell all would be in the HOF if they played in New York, and continue to get absolutely jobbed to this day! Detroit retire Sparky's number while he's alive to appreciate the gesture, and get Lou and Tram a statue together at Comerica!
