For more information on the Blade mCX2 or to order one please visit the following link: www.horizonhobby.com For more information on the Blade mCX2 or to order one please visit the following link: www.horizonhobby.com The original coaxial mCX was probably the biggest thing that has ever happened to RC helicopters. It was very small, it was very easy to fly, and it was durable. The similar mCX S300 was next. Recently we have seen the Tandem Rescue twin rotor co-axial helicopter. It was just as easy to fly as the original. This series of helicopters has introduced more people to heli flight than any other and even the experts are having fun with them. Now we have the mCX2, with new styling but the same flying characteristics. This new one is going to follow the tradition set using this intriguing technology—same size, same performance—but in an all-new package! The new full body gives it the look of a much larger helicopter while retaining the attitude that we have all come to expect. You can fly this one in any indoor facility day or night. The fun continues with the Blade mCX2. Our video with Blade Product developer Mark Padilla will outline all the features of this new Ultra Micro Helicopter. Maybe it is time to get another mCX.Questions? Comments? You can find more information or purchase the Twin Otter at this link: www.horizonhobby.com The space in your hanger is going to have to be expanded. Hangar 9 has just introduced a new De Havilland Twin Otter! The Twin Otter is one of modeldoms most favorite scale subjects and this one makes the twin engine (or motor) subject easy to assemble for all RC sport scale pilots. It also has fixed gear and this model includes very detailed, scale-like landing gear. The high wing design and Clark Y airfoil provides an easy-to-fly and predictable model while an electric power option results in a reliable twin motored subject for someone venturing into their first twin aircraft. The model uses standard radio equipment so there is no need for special servos or installation procedures. It has many more features that will appeal to a wide range of RC pilots. Peter Goldsmith, product developer for the Twin Otter, is with us today to outline those features that Hangar 9 has built into the Otter. Watch our video presentation and see just how intriguing this airplane is. I think you might have to spend some time day dreaming about this subject! You can find more information or purchase the X9503 at this link: www.horizonhobby.com Many RC airplane pilots tend to be very involved with their hobby, studying all the new airplanes and equipment available late into the evening. JRs 9-channel 9303 radio has always been the perfect choice for these guys. It will fly just about any model, has 30-model memory, offers 2048 resolution, and much more. That wasnt enough for die-hard enthusiasts, so the new X9503 offers more model memory but also some other cool features are incorporated into this latest offering from JR Radios. Like the JR 12X transmitter, the new X9503 includes a backlit display which resolves the issue of difficult-to-see monitor screens. This is one new feature that will instantly catch your attention. The new screen is very easy to see and read. Another interesting idea that JR incorporated into the new transmitter is the automatic timer startup with throttle when flying electric models. John Diniz, JR Radios Category Manager, was kind enough to stop by and show us the X9503. Our video will guide you through all the information that John outlined for us. Take a look and see just how this new transmitter can help you improve your RC modeling experience. You can buy or find more information about the mCX Blade Tandem Rescue RTF here: www.horizonhobby.com Everybody and their brother have been having fun with Blade mCX helicopters since they were first released. The first mCX with its ultra light-weight 4-channel radio and coaxial rotors was very easy to fly and very durable meaning everyone could fly it and expect it to survive a few unintentional mishaps. Then the mCX S300 introduced a new scale-like body that made it even more fun flying around the living room. Now there is another new Blade, the mCX Tandem Rescue with two sets of coaxial rotors! Your first impression is that this is going to be a) difficult to fly and b) fragile. Well, I can say unequivocally that this is not the case. Its very easy to fly and very durable. It flies like the original single rotor mCX but the dual rotor setup provides additional interesting maneuvers not possible with the single rotor mCX. This one does maneuvers that more conventional helis would be jealous of. The Blade Tandem Rescue is 100% factory-assembled, test-flown and ready-to-fly right from the box. It includes factory-installed LED navigation lights and a 4-channel 2.4GHz DSM2 transmitter among many other features. Take a look at our video preview with Mark Padilla, the E-flite Product Developer, and see how much fun this new Blade is. Preview E-flite Beechcraft Bonanza 15e ARF If there was ever a Cadillac of general aviation aircraft the Beechcraft Bonanza has been that airplane. Model builders have been so enamored with the Beechcraft that it ranks right at the top of everyones favorite airplanes to build when I get the time. E-flite just released their new Bonanza 15e ARF. Of course ARF means you have to do a small amount of assembly (about 8 hours) and supply your own radio, speed control, motor as well as some optional accessories. The finished model is exceptional and the 15e size means it will fit in your car easily. E-flites Beechcraft is meant for intermediate pilots and offers outstanding scale outlines that make realistic flybys reminiscent of every full scale Bonanza you have ever seen. E-flite also offers optional accessory kits that allow a pilot to incorporate retract gear, flaps, V tail and a complete cockpit interior in their Bonanza. The in-flight demonstrations at your local field will get rave reviews from every guy there. You might get home from the field pretty late after explaining the features of this model to your friends. John Redman, the E-flite man in charge of this project, gave us an excellent preview of this feature packed airplane. Watch our video and see what John has to say. Twitter.com - Follow Us! David Archuleta's new album preview is right now on Clevver TV. Hi everyone. Welcome back to Clevver TV. I'm Dana Ward with our New Album Preview series. Today we're zoning in on David Archuleta who's hoping to bring a bit of joy to the world with his latest cd. 'Christmas from the Heart' dropped on October 13th, and it features many of the classic internationally recognized Yule songs, like 'Silent Night' and 'I'll Be Home for Christmas'. The favorite 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' features Filipino vocalist Charice Pempengco. Plus, listeners will catch the Salt Lake Children's Choir as well as The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra showcased on several tracks too. Some other tracks include 'Joy to the World', 'O Holy Night' and 'First Noel'. Apparently, Archuleta's love for the true meaning of good will as well as his original composition 'Melodies of Christmas' inspired the entire holiday album and tour. David spoke out saying, QUOTE 'This is a special time of year that we spend with family and loved ones. It means so much to each one of us. I hope you can all feel that in the music.' If you're a super fan, you can catch David in action at one of his 17-city stops. Yep, Archuleta announced a US holiday tour during November and December. And mark one to be a special concert series, as a partnership with 'I Love All Access' created a bunch of VIP packages for premium seats, meet and greets, Q and A's with David, photo ops and even a ...

Amazing! We just finish a review of a very engaging new model from ParkZone, the ultra-micro Sukhoi, and bang here comes another airplane that not only fits everyones favorite WWII Warbird category but also brings all the features from the ParkZone Trojan, Corsair and Mustang. But it doesnt end there—it just gets started! The new Messerschmitt BF-109G is another airplane that all airplane enthusiasts are familiar with. The BF-109G has the kind of proportions that make excellent model airplanes. A long tail and high aspect ratio wingspan guarantee that it will perform very well as a scale model. This model has so many details, such as the air intake scoop, steerable scale-like tail wheel, engine exhaust shields, scale spinner, machine guns, and an optional flap installation kit, it makes this airplane stand out over just about any park flyer you have ever seen. The Messerschmitt will be available as both a BNF and PNP model but not as an RTF. The big internal feature is the new 15 BL outrunner brushless motor. A large scale profile three-bladed prop required more torque than the previous 480-size motor could provide. And that means more performance! There are even more features that we outline in our video preview, so it would be a good idea to watch and get ready to add this one to your hangar. I think Ill be waiting in line to get one. Specs Wingspan: 43.5 in (1105mm) Length: 39.4 in (1000mm) Weight: 35.3 oz (1000 g) Motor Size: 15 BL Speed Control: 30A Switch-Mode BEC ...

"The Beautiful Life" hasn't even arrived on small screens yet, but the buzz surrounding the Ashton-Kutcher-produced show is out of control. The show, which will be about the crazy and unpredictable lives of supermodels living in New York City, is little unpredictable itself these days. After shooting only two episodes, TBL is already putting production on hold because one of it's stars, Mischa Barton, is being hospitalized at LA's Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Despite the setback though, the show is shaping up to be juicy and scandalous. The life of high fashion might seem glamorous, but we're about to find out that behind closed doors it's a vicicous world. Other actors in the lineup include HSM's Corbin Bleu, real-life supermodel Elle Macpherson AND a few actors we haven't really seen before including Sara Paxton-who plays Raina Collins, a beauty with a secret past AND Ben Hollingsworth plays Chris Andrews, a handsome Iowa farm boy. After becoming friends, the pair quickly see the dark side of fashion world. This show must be the real deal because Zac Posen is appearing in the first episode which features a runway show where fashion's reigning queen-played by Barton- is dethroned by newcomer Raina-who we already mentioned will be played by Paxton. Only time will tell what will happen on and off the cut-throat runways in "The Beautiful Life," BUT before the show can go on, Mischa Barton has to regain her health. Unless of course show producers decide to replace her ...

Some people might think the new ParkZone® P-51 BL is just a new trim scheme on an old model. Its not. ParkZone has learned a lot with the introduction first of the T-28D Trojan and then the F4-U Corsair. Durable and lightweight Z-Foam™ construction results in rugged models and the P-51 is now built with this great material. The 480 outrunner brushless motor from those other models is now the powerplant for this slightly smaller and lighter brother. The result of course is more performance. The P-51 BL also has the same top access hatch for the battery and radio as on the T-28. Flight performance is going to surprise you. The P-51 BL is available in two versions, one as an RTF and one as a BNF. Eric Johnson brought the new airplane over so we could preview this very interesting development. This airplane is going to end up in the hands of a lot of park flyer pilots, but I expect it will show up at club flying fields everywhere as well. The basic features are listed below. Look at our video preview with Eric as he shows us the features this new airplane brings to the flying field. Questions? Comments? HobbyZones Super Cub RTF has proven to be the best way for beginners to learn the skills needed to fly radio controlled models even if they are doing it on their own without an experienced RC pilot to help. Now the new Super Cub LP RTF improves on the original with a Li-Po battery for longer flight times and an interesting new color scheme. The Super Cub LP includes everything needed to fly the model and in as little time as it takes to charge the battery. It is also a very durable airplane able to survive some of the mishaps related to beginners first flights. The Z-Foam™ construction is easily repaired with common adhesives so the model will be back in the air within minutes. Check out the features listed below. I was able to catch up with Eric Johnson, product developer in charge of the Super Cub LP and asked him to show us all about the new model. History Channel's THE LINK EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW Ida HISTORY SPECIAL DOCUMENTING DISCOVERY TO AIR MAY 25 AT 9PM ET/PT HISTORY CHANNEL™, THE UNIVERSITY OF OSLO AND THE SENCKENBERG RESEARCH INSTITUTE REVEAL LANDMARK SCIENTIFIC FIND 47 Million Year Old Primate Fossil Set to Revolutionize Understanding of Human Evolution HISTORY, together with the University of Oslo and the Senckenberg Research Institute, yesterday revealed a landmark scientific find: the 47 million year old fossilized remains of a primate. The most complete fossil primate ever found, the young female specimen — known as "Ida" — is set to revolutionize our understanding of human evolution. Twenty times older than most fossils that explain human evolution, "Ida" is a transitional species showing characteristics from the very primitive non-human evolutionary line (prosimians, such as lemurs), but she is more related to the human evolutionary line (anthropoids, such as monkeys, apes and humans). This places Ida at the very root of anthropoid evolution — when primates were first developing the features that would evolve into our own. The scientists' findings are published today by PLoS One, the open source journal of the Public Library of Science. The find is lauded as the most important scientific discovery of recent times. HISTORY will premiere the major television special —"THE LINK"— chronicling the discovery and study of the fossil. The two-hour program, produced by London-based Atlantic Productions, will air on ...
Chris Harrison, Scott Hudson chrisharrison.net Physical buttons have the unique ability to provide low-attention and vision-free interactions through their intuitive tactile clues. Unfortunately, the physicality of these interfaces makes them static, limiting the number and types of user interfaces they can support. On the other hand, touch screen technologies provide the ultimate interface flexibility, but offer no inherent tactile qualities. In this paper, we describe a technique that seeks to occupy the space between these two extremes offering some of the flexibility of touch screens, while retaining the beneficial tactile properties of physical interfaces. The outcome of our investigations is a visual display that contains deformable areas, able to produce physical buttons and other interface elements. These tactile features can be dynamically brought into and out of the interface, and otherwise manipulated under program control. The surfaces we describe provide the full dynamics of a visual display (through rear projection) as well as allowing for multitouch input (though an infrared lighting and camera setup behind the display). To illustrate the tactile capabilities of the surfaces, we describe a number of variations we uncovered in our exploration and prototyping. These go beyond simple on/off actuation and can be combined to provide a range of different possible tactile expressions. A preliminary user study indicates that our dynamic buttons perform much like ...
Everyone is familiar with the E-flite mCX micro helicopter. But now there is a new version of the mCX with a very nice Schweitzer S300 scale-like body. We all know how easy the mCX is to fly and the new S300 is no different. This dual-rotor coaxial helicopter makes everyone look like an expert pilot. Flying the mCX is great fun. Having three or four of these helicopters flying around in the living room and challenging each other to do more complex tasks makes it even better. The fun just never quits. The S300 RTF includes everything in the box needed to fly the helicopter. The 4 channel transmitter incorporates Spektrum 2.4GHz technology so there is never any concern about frequency issues. There is also a BNF model for those people who already have a DSM2 transmitter. I got hold of Mark Padilla, E-flite Product Developer, to review the features incorporated into this new mCX S300. There are a couple surprises. Our video will give you a lot of insight into this exceptional RC model. Questions? Comments? Recently the really tiny and very lightweight RC airplanes have been giving pilots an opportunity to fly indoors when the weather outside is cold and blustery. ParkZone just released a new 1.1 ounce airplane and this one is remarkable. A fully aerobatic, full 4-function control, Sukhoi Su-26m with a 15.75 wingspan. A truly micro sized 4-channel aerobatic 15 airplane, no way! Well it is amazing and it performs at a level you have to see to believe. The extremely lightweight on-board radio system is a full 6-channel Spektrum DSM2 unit with a separate 1.5 gram aileron servo and 110mAh LiPo battery. This airplane is available as a Bind-N-Fly only, so a pilot will have to use his own DSM2 transmitter. I had the opportunity to talk with Eric Johnson, ParkZone product developer, about this latest release. Our video interview with Eric outlines the features as Eric talks about the many interesting ideas incorporated into this Ultra-Micro BNF Sukhoi. I think you will be as intrigued as I am. Questions? E-flite has just added another model in their series of fun, slow flyer WWI era biplanes. The JN-4 Jenny and SE5a were the first two. Now they have announced a very realistic-looking Nieuport 17 250 ARF. A prepainted, vacuum foam-molded airframe makes it very light and very easy to build. This Nieuport is designed around the E-flite Park 250 outrunner motor and will offer RC modelers a scale model WWI biplane that puts smiles on the faces of everyone. It is an ARF model, so the builder will have to supply a brushless motor, electronic speed control, and battery to complete the assembly. E-flite product developer John Redman is with us to outline the features this airplane offers to modelers of all skill levels. Questions? Comments? BOAs brought a lot of things together: the triple star power of Schmidt, Hattrup, and Plake; some amazing photography by Bruce Benedict, the cutting-edge music of ZTT Records/Trevor Horn, and Greg's wonderful sense of style and humor.

Probably one of the most remembered airplanes of WWII is the inverted gull-winged Corsair. This was the first fighter to break 400 mph and is a favorite of modelers everywhere. The Corsair is going to be a stablemate of the current best seller, the ParkZone T-28 Trojan. They have many common features such as the brushless 480 motor, Li-Po battery and Z-Foam construction. It all adds up to having more fun. ParkZone product developer Eric Johnson talked with us about the Corsair and all the excitement created by this introduction. Take a look at F4U Corsair in our video preview. Eric and ParkZone are on top of what RC park fliers are looking for and this plane is going to be a lot of fun. Watch for it to ship in the very near future—I believe the sky is going to be covered with these bent-wing birds.
I posted a video a few days ago that I figured maybe 100 or so of my regular subscribers might get a kick out of seeing. Well, it turned out that in 3 days, nearly 600 people found it of interest. Wow ... guess I should shut up and just play music more often. I mean no disrespect, but that video was supposed to just be a teaser aimed at my regular viewers to get them ready for a recent development. Some of the top researchers you have seen here on YouTube and some others who tend to keep their work more private have joined forces. Our purpose is to advance the state of the art more rapidly than any one of us might be able to do on our own. As it happens, the design first published by Tero Ranta in 2006 will be the first of many that we intend to take to its maximum potential. I would expect that other proven designs might get similar attention as we move forward. And there may even be a few surprises along the way as we experiment with some things you may never have seen before. My contribution to this effort is called "Tero Ranta meets Bob Boyce". This will be a large format Tero system based on 101 8" x 8" 316 stainless plates. It will be optimized to run on rectified house current at about 155vDC. Planned capacity of the device is 10 LPM with an efficiency rating in the 6.5mmw (+/- a couple) range. If I am successful at getting the Bob Boyce inspired electronics to work as planned, it might just do a bit more than that. We shall see. You will soon see other researchers ...

Extended preview for the feature length documentary "This Is What Love In Action Looks Like", due out in 2010. In the summer of 2005 a 16yo Memphis, TN wrote on his MySpace blog about his parents sending him to a "Fundamentalist Christian" program that claimed to offer "Freedom from homosexuality". What followed is a modern day message in a bottle, as teens in the local community stood up for their friend with daily protests which eventually grew to include a huge plethora of individuals demonstrating at the facility in what would become an international news story. The documentary features several former clients of the organization who tell their personal stories about the time they spent within the programs walls, including exclusive never before seen interviews with several teenagers who were forced into the "Refuge" program. The documentaries producers intent was to show the passion and conviction of both sides of such a strong debate, however, countless attempts to interview Love In Action officials, and their wider network of affiliates were continuously denied, unfortunately thwarting our wishes to allow them to tell their personal stories in detail :-( The documentary will premiere in 2010.

The Photosynth Technology Preview is a taste of the newest way to view photos on a computer. Our software takes a large collection of photos of a place or an object, analyzes them for similarities, and then displays the photos in a reconstructed three-dimensional space, showing you how each one relates to the next. In our collections, you can access gigabytes of photos in seconds, view a scene from nearly any angle, find similar photos with a single click, and zoom in to make the smallest detail as big as your monitor. A Photosynth experience begins with nothing more than a bunch of digital photos. They might all have been taken by one person, or they might be a mixture of images from many different cameras, shooting conditions, dates, times of day, resolutions, and so on. Each dot represents an extracted feature Each photo is processed by computer vision algorithms to extract hundreds of distinctive features, like the corner of a window frame or a door handle. Photos that share features are then linked together in a web. When the same feature is found in multiple images, its 3D position can be calculated. It's similar to depth perception - what your brain does to perceive the 3D positions of things in your field of view based on their images in both of your eyes. Photosynth's 3D model is just the cloud of points showing where those features are in space.
