Peacock Dance is confined to the hilly regions of Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam districts of Andhra Pradesh. It is performed by the Khonds, who live in this region, during their weddings and festivals. The dancers dress like a peacock. They wear turbans made of grass and marked with colorful rags and fix bunches of peacock feathers at their back. Forming a circle, they bend forward so that it looks like a dancing peacock. The dancers, after praying mother to Earth and Sun God, step forward and backward and imitate the peacocks cry. Same here in this performance noted kathak dancer Karaan Jodhani has initiated to dance and imitate like peacock. In the first part of the music he depicts his happiness, to be in this nature earth and then he dances away to glory like a peacock.Being recognized with various national awards, he has performed at very renowned institutions of dance in India.
