The Standing Ovation cast hit the Bahamas to perform dances and musical numbers from the film for a charity concert to benefit the Ranfurly Home, an orphanage for children in Nassau. The cast prepared for weeks under the direction of choreographers Debbie Apalucci and Krystal Tini, along with world-renowned vocal coach Sal Dupree, who grew up in an orphanage himself. Sal was able to relate to the children and reminded them to keep their faith, always believe in themselves, and remember that there is life beyond the orphanage. Upon arrival, the first stop was to the home of Tina Knowles, a local Bahamian and longtime Ranfurly advocate and supporter, for rehearsal with the children from the Meridan School and several Ranfurly residents, who would also be performing in the two-hour show. The Standing Ovation cast arrived expecting a rehearsal, but encountered so much more! Sun, sand and a turquoise ocean that stretched as far as the eye could see served as the background for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Bahamian children performed numbers including Michael Jackson's "Can You Feel It," a saxophone solo of John Legend's "Ordinary People" and a rendition of Etta James' "At Last," giving goose bumps to all in attendance! The cast chatted with the performers while munching on hamburgers and hot dogs as excitement loomed over the following day's performance. This was a 5 star resort which I definitely recommend and which I've given a 9.5 out of 10 personal rating for overall luxury and comfort experience. I've travelled to numerous carribean locales and resorts (but for the all-inclusive category this has to be the best). Albeit if I could take the Lagoon room from Grand Princess Riviera Resort & Spa add it to the plunge pool of this DREAMS resort and the calm, crystal blue, white powdery sand beach of "Rose Island" in the Bahamas then we'd have a perfect 10. Not a single resort has captured the 10 of 10 experience as of yet....still in search.

Jeanette and I flew out of Philadelphia on November 17 and returned the 19th...well actually 5am on the 20th! Sandals flew us along with 158 other Travel Agents to Nassau, Bahamas and Turks & Caicos for a training session on Sandals and Beaches Resorts and Spas. We visited Nassau first and enjoyed a wonderful time of training and teaching as well as on site inspection of the property at Grand Bahamian Resort. Just incredible. Then back on the charter plane to Turks & Caicos, to the island of Providenciales. Again more teaching and site inspections and lots of time to sample the cuisine and talk to the staff. We returned tired but excited about the awesome 6 star treatment of the Sandals staff! Thank you Butch Steward and all of the incredible employees of Sandals!
Jojo the dolphin goes waterskiing with professional waterskier Billy Susi in Turks and Caicos. We at NautiqueSports were doing a shoot for Waterski Magazine with the magazine's editor and photographer, Todd Ristorcelli, and professional USA slalom water skiers Billy Susi and Thomas Moore. A local dolphin named Jojo came up and was following in the wake of our Mastercraft X-star. Billy Susi, an incredible slalom waterskier, put on two water skiis so we could go slower and enable Jojo the dolphin to keep up with us. Waterski Magazine (July 2009 issue) gave us a 10 page article about their trip and Todd Ristorcelli wrote the following about "Skiing With Jojo"... I never thought I's see the day a wild dolphin would share a set with a skier, but it's official. For more than 10 minutes, pro slalom skier Billy Susi waterskied within a few feet of Jojo, an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin that practically has celebrity status on Provo. "It was the coolest thing I'd ever done on the water," says Susi. "Once I widened my stance, Jojo was just cruising upside down directly underneath my skiis." At one point during the ride, Susi reached down and gave the 35 year old dolphin the equivalent of a high-five. The playful creature has made Turks and Caicos its home for almost three decades and was declared a national treasure in 1989.
