Part one of my Star Trek Nemesis review/analysis. I guess this is more of a retrospective look back on the features and why they didn't work too well. Star Trek IX: Insurrection - Prdction: Lcation (2/2)
Star Trek Generations was released in 1994 and was directed by David Carson; it is the seventh feature film based on the Star Trek science fiction television series. It is however, the first film in the series to both star the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation as well as cameos from the cast of Star Trek: The Original Series. The film started with the retired Captain James T. Kirk reluctantly attending the maiden voyage of the USS Enterprise-B, during the voyage of which it was pressed into a rescue mission to save two ships filled with El-Aurian refugees from a strange energy ribbon, resulting in the heroic act and presumed death of Captain Kirk. While the film did reasonably well at the box office, it received mixed reviews from critics. Though it was fondly remembered as a symbolical passing of the Star Trek legacy from the cast of The Original Series to the cast of The Next Generation, as well as being the last adventure of James Tiberius Kirk, the movie was criticised for the lack of satisfying climax and felt a little like over-extended TNG episode.
