Action fire documentation filmed in HD of the "Station Fire", in the Angeles National Forest, Los Angeles County, CA beginning on August 26th, 2009. This is the largest wildland fire in Los Angeles County history, claiming the lives of two LA County firefighters, destroying 89 residences and 22 commercial buildings. The fuel and terrain driven fire exhibited extreme fire behavior leading to the destruction of 160577 acres, which is over 250 square miles. The fire was 98% contained on Sept. 27th, 2009.

These fire tankers were working the Station fire. WJF is so close to the fire, the planes would return every 30 minutes for the next load. 15 minutes on the ground and they would be back up again. Great for fire fighting, terrible for pilot workload.

This is a collection of time lapse footage, shot during the La Canada "Station" forest fire in the San Gabriel Mountains of southern California, August 28th through September 3rd, 2009. A huge chunk of old-growth mountain ecosystem was burned, houses destroyed, and lives lost during this event.
