-Gregg Anniversary Shorthand Dictation at 70 WPM- This is a shorthand dictation written at 70 words per minute. I've recently begun a switch from Handywrite Shorthand (see other videos) to Gregg Anniversary, a system of Gregg shorthand on which Handywrite is actually based. It's a much more swift system with more advanced abbreviations. Because I began with Handywrite and the alphabets for both system are similar, I had not much trouble switching to Gregg. This is at 70 WPM, which again is a bit of a stretch, and you can see that I slipped up a couple times. However, I hope to continue to improve! I figured out how to rotate the video without making it blurry~! This is a dictation of 4 minutes using a Tablet PC and Gregg Shorthand anniversary edition. I was expecting a slower speed, but that was far from a problem. The major problem was the smoothness of the screen. This meant that it was easy to exaggerate strokes, and accentuates any difficulties I have with pen control. On the brighter side, now you get to see clearly what I am writing. Yes... my longhand at speed is just as messy as my shorthand. The dictation was recorded by me from Gregg Speed building for Colleges.
I haven't done any dedicated study for a while now, but just watching myself get more confident with shorthand through general use. 140wpm is a bit of milestone, although the real milestone will be 160wpm when I get to tick off my 'goal' on 43things.com. I hope you enjoy, and that my shorthand is semi-legible to those watching.
