For friends and family in the Gret Stet of Louisiana, THIS is snow. I stuck our camera out the front door to shoot some video, being that we're in the midst of what probably will come to be known as the Christmas Blizzard of '09. When people talk about being "snowed in," this is what they're talking about. We're supposedly going to have about a foot of snow by the time this blows over early Saturday. With the way the snow is drifting, driving is difficult at best. It was a bit dicey going to Mass at 7 pm, -- I had to shovel out the driveway for the third time so we could get out -- and it's five times worse now. The city says we may see snowplows in the neighborhoods by Saturday or Sunday -- they're having trouble keeping the main drags halfway drivable in this stuff. But I made a pot of -- maybe -- my best Christmas Eve gumbo ever and I'm snowed in with my best girl, so life is good.

Una delle nostre ricerche sulle ferrovie scomparse: Questa è dedicata alla tramvia che collegava la città di Terni e le sue acciaierie al paesino di Ferentillo a una decina di km. dal capoluogo nella Val Nerina. La tramvia che nel percorso urbano usciva da Terni percorrendo il Viale Brin, si inseriva sul lato destro della statale e costeggiando il fiume Nera passava sotto la celebre Cascata delle Marmore attraversando le località Papigno e Arrone-Montefranco dove il fabbricato viaggiatori è ancora oggi visibile. Il terminale di Ferentillo è purtroppo scomparso per lasciare lo spazio ad un giardino pubblico proprio di fronte la chiesa del paese. Un video realizzato nel 2009 che evoca molto bene i tempi andati delle foto d'epoca riportando alla memoria un'altro tesoro di ferrovia purtroppo scomparso. Un ringraziamento doveroso a Roberto Famoos per la guida e per le informazioni dettagliate nel video e un ringraziamento anche ad Alessandro Moscetti per la documentazione nel forum che ci ha aiutati nella preparazione del video.
