This scene is from the 1960 20th Century Fox film "North to Alaska", starring John Wayne. Ernie co-starred with the Duke along with Stewart Granger, the late French film star Capucine, and teenage heart throb Fabian. Directed by the legendary Henry Hathaway, this clip showcases Kovacs as a swarmy con-artist named Frankie Canon who has his eye out on the Duke's swag bag filled with over $100000 in Klondike gold money. Ernie's character attempts to pull off a small scam in a local frontier sauna by pawning his "diamond" ring, After it is accidently exposed as fake, Ernie gets a taste of the Duke's subsequent disatisfaction. In another ironic twist of fate, the singer of the movie's title theme song, Johnny Horton, died in a car crash shortly after the release of this film. Kovacs' fatal crash occured a little over a year later.

This charming Benjamin Frankel composition comes from his full score to the 1955 thriller "Footsteps in the Fog", which starred Jean Simmons and her then husband Stewart Granger. Here, it is played in a light-music version by Laurie Johnson and his orchestra. Frankel scored three Jean Simmons films (the others being "So Long at the Fair" and "The Clouded Yellow") and it seems that her beauty inspired three of his loveliest themes.

Lily Watkins (played by Jean) is in love with Stephen Lowry (played by Stewart Granger), even though she knows he is responsible for the murders of two other women. In this clip (from the end of the movie), she returns home to find out that Lowry is accusing her of poisoning him.
In this clip, Jean, as Elizabeth (not yet queen), stands up to Lord Seymour (Guy Rolfe) to try to save the life of Tom Seymour (Stewart Granger).
This clip is from Jean's first starring role opposite her future husband, Stewart Granger. They changed the spelling of her character's name in the title to "Evalyn" for the US release.
Live by the gun, die by the gun? Depends on what kind of shot you are, fast-drawing Tom Early says. Folks in an emerging frontier community in 1880s Wyoming Territory want nothing to do with Earlys kind of six-shooter justice. But he may be the only one who can stop cattlemen from destroying the town. Stewart Granger portrays Early, adding gunfighter to a movie resume that includes adventurer (King Solomons Mines) and swashbuckler (Scaramouche). Flame-haired Rhonda Fleming (Gunfight at the OK Corral) co-stars in this Western morality tale whose contributors include blacklisted and uncredited writer Ben Maddow (The Asphalt Jungle).
Ava Gardner was never more alluring than as the half-caste heroine of Bhowani Junction. Set during India's battle for independence from Britain, the film begins with Ava returning to her native land after spending several years in England. Her true loyalties, and her own sense of who she really is, are put to the test by the two men in her life: Stewart Granger, whose job it is to prevent saboteurs from destroying the trains at Bhowani Junction, and Bill Travers, another half-caste. When she kills a potential rapist in self-defense, Ava is given comfort by Communist insurrectionist Peter Illing, further dividing her fidelities.

2:55: So why did the chicken cross the road? To be in movies, of course! Pull the top down! Nothing like driving a convertible or sports car on a gorgeous day or evening! Our drivers (in order of racing position) Luciana Paluzzi, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, Susan Sarandon and Claudia Cardinale. Mostly terrified passengers are Sean Connery, Tony Curtis, Cary Grant, Geena Davis, Stewart Granger, the people on the bus, Marcello Mastroianni and the chicken in the road. Movies are Thunderball, To Catch a Thief, Don't Make Waves, Thelma and Lousie, Butterfield 8, and 8 1/2. Song is "Drive" by Shannon Noll. I tried the studio recording of Drive which was blocked by youtube in the land of the Autobahn so I did this live recording (oh well).
Old Surehand (železniční část / Railway Part, CZ Dubbing), 1965 Old Surehand Flaming Frontier Western / Dobrodružný Západní Německo / Jugoslávie, 1965, 89 min Režie: Alfred Vohrer Hrají: Stewart Granger, Pierre Brice, Terence Hill, Letícia Román, Velimir 'Bata' Živojinović, Vladimir Medar, Jelena Zigon, Dušan Janičijević Tentokrát se příběh odehrává v Arizoně roku 1860.
