Elephant Parade is a conservation campaign that shines a multi-coloured spotlight on the urgent crisis faced by the endangered Asian elephant. The promotions of Wake Up Sid have begun! And now that the proms and trailers are running full-fledged, it is obvious anyone and everyone have has watched the promos as well as the ad campaign in newspapers. This is the story of Siddharth Mehra (Ranbir Kapoor), a lazy, unmotivated slacker from Mumbai whose life undergoes a series of changes after taking his final year college exams. Sid's world is breezy, carefree, and without any true responsibilities. The most important elements in his life are his friends, his camera, his car, and his X-box 360. Undoubtedly the content is very fresh and the promotions are very innovative. Ranbir Kapoor, the protagonist of Wake Up Sid seems to be simply amazing in the film. And to stand up to someone like Konkona Sen Sharma is no mean achievement. The best part is, the chemistry is interesting and the unconventional casting works for the film. Wake Up Sid marks the directorial debut of Ayan Mukherjee, brother of the popular Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee. The movie is scheduled to release on October 2, 2009.

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation is a charity that aims to promote the positive nature of different subcultures, to campaign for tolerance within society, and to provide a lasting legacy for Sophie, a young, intelligent, caring and beautiful girl who was murdered, simply because she dressed differently. Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend Robert Maltby were savagely attacked in August 2007 without provocation, by a group of teenage boys. Robert was beaten unconscious then the youths turned on Sophie who was cradling her boyfriend, trying to protect him. The attacks were brutal and described by the leading police officer in the case as one of the most violent murders he has come across in his lengthy career. The five violent offenders received sentences ranging from four years to life. They showed no remorse. Sophie (S tamp Out Prejudice Hatred + Intolerance Everywhere) would like to raise awareness of the Foundation and seek support for its core aims educating young people to celebrate diversity, as well as bring about a change in the Hate Crime legislation to include attacks on alternative cultures. Sophie Lancaster was a caring, sensitive and intelligent girl who was murdered because she was different.
