Full-time teachers voted on Wednesday February 10, 2010 on the final offer from Ontario College Administration
If Ontario college faculty vote against a proposed contract Feb. 10, a subsequent strike could leave about 200000 students wondering what to do with their time.
The Ontario labour board has announced that the final vote for the province-wide strike will be held Feb 10. About 200000 students will be affected by the vote. TheDailyPlanet.com reporter, Jen Korson, hit the halls of Humber College to find out how a strike could affect students.

Colleges across Ontario go on strike and may walk out by mid-February.
On January 13th 2010 the Ontario Public Service Employers Union (OPSEU) voted 57% in favour of a strike. I urge every Ontario college student with a camera and the internet to make a short video urging the administration and the union to go back to the table to continue negotiations rather than put 200000 students out on the street. While I understand why the union feels the need to strike, I believe that actually going on strike is going AGAINST what the union is claiming they want to do, support the students. Please join me in my quest to have our voices heard! Viva La Revolution! Chloe van Keeken

Revalations during the 2007 Ontario College Teacher's strike. My cable was out the whole two weeks... or three weeks if you count that it happened right after spring break. Anyway... I was bored as shit so I actually decided did some work. I was inspired by my being-bored-as-shitness, you could say, to create the monologue and storyboard about it. It's lovely and gangsta. Enjoy!
This commercial was a project given to several students at Seneca College's Film & Media Production Centre, in Toronto. This production was unable to be submitted on time to the makers of Maalox, due to an unfortunate teacher's strike that affected every college and university in Ontario, in the Spring of 2006. But with almost no budget, a group of some very talented individuals were able to come together at 1 o'clock in the morning, in the gymnasium of a private school north of Toronto, and put together what you are about to see. After having performed as a villain in my last several films, it was very refreshing to be able to put my physical training and comedy experience to work for me. The storyline was written by three students at Seneca College. I play Mr. Heartburn - the rough & tumble type of symptom that was born to be despised. Along with his fellow symptoms, Mr. Diarrhea, Mr. Indigestion, Mr. Nausea, Ms. Upset Stomach and Mr. Cramps, they set to do battle with Mr. Maalox in a not-so-friendly bout of dodge ball. This all takes place inside the stomach of a man that needs relief, and fast! But they don't call Mr. Maalox "Mister" for nothing! I hope you enjoy watching this, as much as I enjoyed performing in it.
